harry, are you upset that the quality of your government-subsidized healthcare is going to be impaired because other people start getting government-subsidized healthcare, too?

These stories happen all the time, but no one in the American media cares or bothers. They're too in the tank for the current POTUS.

Check this out: Sure to Be Omitted from Our Media: U.K. Hospital Horror Story of Dragging a Dead Guy Like an Animal | NewsBusters.org
I hear about these listening to BBC podcasts. One of the regs over there is that once a patient has been brought into an emergency room for emergency care the clock is ticking. There's a time limit that that person has to be seen.

But hospitals get away from complying with the spirit of this by keeping patients outside in the parking lot inside an ambulance until they are ready to see them in a fashion to comply with the regulation.

It's like gosplan in the Soviet Union.

Patients forced to wait hours in ambulances parked outside A&E departments - Telegraph
    This is in 2009.

Is this what we want here?

Tape shows woman dying on waiting room floor
    July 01, 2008

A 49-year-old woman collapsed and died on the floor of a waiting room at a Brooklyn psychiatric hospital and lay there for more than an hour as employees ignored her, according to the New York Civil Liberties Union, which on Tuesday released surveillance camera video of the incident.

Esmin Green was involuntarily admitted to the psychiatric emergency department of Kings County Hospital Center on June 18 for what the hospital describes as "agitation and psychosis."

Upon her admission, Green waited nearly 24 hours for treatment, said the civil liberties union, which was among the groups filing suit against the facility last year seeking improved conditions for patients

Nothing more current than 3 years old?

Come on - you can do better than that.

But if I'm trying to show that we were letting people die in our ERs first (before 2009) what good would it do me to find something which happened after that?

I miss the days of Apple Strudel pointing out the logical fallacies--even as he freely engaged in his own.

Your comparing apples to orange, darling.

One is a psychiatric hospital where people sit on the faeces and drool for hours on end.

The story I referenced was a regular emergency ward where victim of knifes slashes come in for treatment.

Hey, what ever happened to you holding your hands over your ears yelling "I can't hear you I can't hear you!" at me? I think I much preferred it that way.

Few things are more pathetic than someone who goes out of their way to point out they have someone on "ignore" when it turns out that they don't have that person on ignore.

An ER is an ER, regardless. No one should sit 24 hours and wait to be seen. And no one should die in a waiting room.

And please don't call me "darling." Thanks.

Translation: You lack even the simple self discipline to stick by your own self righteous pronouncements.

    No surprise there.

I believe that particular cliche is usually rendered, "if you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen."

    Why the modification?

    Sexism?

Stop losing arguments and making specious points if you don't want to look like a twit; don't try to recoup with assinine appeals to locally tolerated prejudice.
