    From CNN surprisingly enough:

Embryonic stem cells: Outmoded science - CNN.com

So the gov will pour tax dollars towards a divisive obsolete method.

That wasn't a news articles, it was a press release. And he failed to mention the propensity of iPSC to cause tumors like teratomas....

ESC also produce tumors. Adult stem cells have produced the best results so far. I would also note the quotes from the people who were proponents of ESC's who have abandoned that approach.

Kind of like posting an article by Carl Everett that the Apollo Landing was a hoax.

I take it you didn't read the article? THe people who developed the method say it isn't relevant now.

How bout an example where ESC's have produced a result other than tumors?

Actually, that was my thought, that you didn't read the article. Matt Bowman, clearly no bias there...........

The quotes sourced from the researchers? That doesn't mean anything? I mean the guys who initally did the ESC research are abandoning it.......while the gov pours money down the rat hole.

Again an example of anything useful from the billions poured into ESC research?

Only one of them said that naturally occurring PSCs are now irrelevant due to iPSCs -- and he appears to have a company that first developed iPSCs, so is his word unimpeachable?

The others said that iPSCs are changing things and could make natural PSCs irrelevant -- big difference.

I read the article which how I knew it was written by a lawyer who opposed the government's position. Will you admit that he has an inherent bias and his perspective might be a bit....skewed????

Of course he has a POV. However he quoted people who developed the methods and supported ESC who are now opposed.

    What can't you acknowledge that?

IS this an attack the author's POV when the contents can't be attacked?

They aren't opposed, they just think that Adult stem cells are a better alternative. As for attacking his point of view, he's not a journalist presenting an unbiased report (unless it's an editorial) but an opinion piece, as it said at the very end.
I would rather see the scientists use adult stem cells without the divisive history of embryonic stem cells but to portray the article as anything other than an opinion piece is disingenuous.
