    "Their" dumbing-down plan...
    is working like a charm!

The title of this article, that an embarrassingly high number of Americans believe that the sun revolves around the Earth, is only one point argued by the Washington Post’s Susan Jacoby, in her attempt to prove that Americans are in serious intellectual trouble, facing a virulent mixture of anti-intellectualism, anti-rationalism and low expectations.

What else is signaling that Americans are becoming increasingly dumbed-down as a society?

I would be interesed in seeing the polling data and methodology that came to that conclusion...

    Embarrassing, yes.
    Surprising?....no.

One of my best friends who graduated high school thought that all the stars were the same distance from the earth but that some were brighter than others. It took about three hours to straighten him out.....and he makes six figures. His wife is convinced that Apollo didn't land on the moon.

And what about men having one less rib than women, its because Adam kicked one of his in to create Eve.

Well, there not all that much brighter overseas. I've had some people ask me, when in Italy, if I drove there from America.:eek::confused:

nIn Iceland, where they value education very highly, 65% of the people believe in trolls and elves that live below the rocks....no sh!t.
Did I mention that they are also the most alcoholic people I've ever seen?
