Life After Surgery – BC Foot and Ankle Specialists []
Over a year for movement to improve. That would explain some reports saying that he is still taking it easy with planting on that foot.
There's also what Chatham said regarding how the bones "move around" differently after surgery. There have been hosts of physicians that have commented on how important it is for skill position players, particularly wide receivers, to fully heal from foot injuries. Then, finally, the proof is in the pudding. Not even two full practices in and Edelman has a setback (albeit minor) on the surgically repaired foot. If we're speaking in pure probability, is the probability that Edelman reinjures his foot higher with rest through the preseason or is it higher with him practicing. Of course you would say it's the latter. But we shall see. If I'm right, and I think I am, the team will deactivate Edelman for the preseason at the most or until the final week after the very least to ease him into getting some reps. I highly doubt they want to play with fire again.
The thing is, speaking from experience, you can tell the doctor whatever you want from a pain standpoint. In the end, they only know as much as you give him. And he already tested the foot. The moment of truth already arrived. The result is possible torn scar tissue at the very least or another minor setback.
He's back now.like i said - its not unlike breaking in new shoes
id like to see him practicing so that he can gradually find his comfort zone
hopefully before week 1
they most certainly do have an MRI at gillette...or right next door anyway. the Brigham and Women's / Mass General Health Care Center at Patriot Place has an MRI scanner:I doubt they have MRI or similar imaging at Gillette. To get hurt around 10 AM, get to Boston for imaging, get it read and into the hands of Jeff Howe by mid-afternoon seems a stretch. He is now felt to have injured his foot vs DEN, yet they did not diagnose a fracture until April. The most encouraging thing from Howe was that his symptom was not pain, but numbness. If so, that should be a good sign. But negative plain X-rays at this point alone do not mean there is not an injury.

- CT
- Mammography

I thought there was an understanding never to post that on this site ever. Just brings back bad memories and a reminder that Pats probably have a SB that year.
Sorry, I know you posted this to prove a point, but c'mon. Whether it's bad memories or superstition, this is not something anyone should ever post. Now I'm scared for Brady all over again.
Up until yesterday's scare, I've always been comfortable and gone along with whatever the medical staff and coaches decided upon. Now, however, I find myself thinking as you do regarding Edelman. Just not worth it.But please, by all means be careful with this guy. I think Jules should start getting the Gronk treatment when it comes to preseason games. Too much injury history, and he's too important to our offense.
Id be worried if AIC didnt make a fool out of himselfHa Ha . Somebody made a fool of himself. I wonder if foot taste like ice cream?
