Hmmm .... Easterbrook and ESPN are wrong because they sensationalize events out of proportion to their significance based on no facts ...... but Schreiber is wrong because IN THIS CASE the Patriots "crime" is indeed equal to Watergate ?

Who's really lost perspective (and logic) here ?

    R

p.s. His logic re:Soccer is certainly defect. Any sport where the teams achieve something (such as a goal) maybe once in 25 or 30 tries to me is the very definition of a boring sport.

They know they have you, the hardcore sports fan, locked up. ....
So they need to try to make money off the casual fan instead. Your girlfriend won't be pulled in by
"Coming up next, Ron Jaworski breaks down the Vikings secondary!" but she might be by
"Should the New England Patriots be forced to fold and Bill Belichick sent to prison?
Gregg Easterbrook explains why he thinks so, after the break!"

Well, he makes some good points, and I like that he admits to being a part of the "system."

    But this:

Erm, isn't that the point of a metaphor? Or should we say that getting a parking ticket is tantamount to eating babies, since both are against the law? Scale sure as hell seems important to me...
