Wes Welker, champion.
Posted by Dave June 30, 2008 5:51PM

Wes Welker seems to fit right in up there in Boston where their superiority complex is at an all-time high after an orgy of championships. Welker commenting on the departure of Asante Samuel in the offseason:

"Asante's a great player, so it hurts not to have a guy like that. But then again, it's part of the business of the game," Welker said. "He chose money over championships, and that's the way it goes sometimes."

Really? Money over championships huh? How many championships has Wes Welker won in New England? The same number Asante Samuel has won in Philadelphia to date. ZERO.

In fact, Welker hasn't won squat since his Junior year in high school when his varsity squad took the Oklahoma 2A championship (whatever that means). In college he played for Texas Tech......yeah.

Asante Samuel's got 2 Super Bowl rings. Maybe he's got a beat on where the next ring is coming from.....at least one can dream.

Boston is way overdue for a karma adjustment. Watch those knee ligaments Brady and company.

It's funny that all the people like this don't think that there could be bad karma in constantly publicly wishing a knee injury on somebody who's never done anything to them other than win football games.

Gotta love those philly sports guys

He's just some blogger. Why waste your time with some guy with an opinion and a web site?

Exactly. We act like this is only guy wishing harm on Brady. I bet at least 50 percent of all football fans want to see him go down.

It would be awesome if "The Happening" really ocurred in Philadelphia.

:agree::rip:

That would be something....then we wouldn't have to worry about any cenial senators.....

M. Night Shyamalan sux.

What does it have do with ahole eagles fans??

Read the plot synopsis.

The film opens in New York. People start to get confused in Central Park, repeating their words, standing still and sometimes walking backwards. We hear a few screams. A woman reading on a bench takes her silver chopstick-style hair pin out of her hair and stabs herself in the neck with it.

In the next shot, we see a science teacher named Elliot Moore (Mark Wahlberg), talking about the event science can not explain about thousands of disappearing bees, no bodies left, no trace. A student offers the opinion that this is a natural event that we will never fully understand. While speculating on the phenomenon that is the disappearing bees, Elliot is suddenly called out of class to a staff meeting warning about an apparent "terrorist attack" in New York in which terrorists have apparently released some kind of gas in Central Park, and advising that school is cancelled. As they leave, Elliot confesses to his friend Julian (John Leguizamo), a math teacher, that he and his wife are having some problems.

Eventually the movie moves on to show Rittenhouse Park where a cop on the road shoots himself in the head. A driver gets out of his car, takes the gun, and also shoots himself in the head. We see a pair of high heels walk over and a hand starts to pick up the gun, then a shot.

Meanwhile on a building site, workers on the ground are chatting when all of a sudden a body falls. Panicked, thinking the worker just fell off the roof by mistake, they rush over to his broken body (yes, this whole movie is very graphic and this scene shows his legs and arms with bones snapped from the fall into inpossible, bloodied positions). While over the body, another thud, another worker. They look at him confused; one is possible, two is unlikely, and when the third falls, it seems impossible. Then yet another and another, crashing to earth. When they look up they see many running off the edge, appearently by their own will, looking completely calm, and sure of their actions.

Read the plot synopsis.

Still the only thing I see that has anything to do with football and/or the eagles is that Mark Wahlberg is in it and he played Vince Papalli in the movie about the Eagles public tryout.

You can't be serious.

I think we're needlessly over-reacting here folks. First, it's a blogger, not the Eagles' beat writer, and it's with the #3 paper in the area. Second, from reading the comments and 'about' link, this is not a serious writer, but is a guy who writes humorous and sarcastic columns (though apparently not too well.) Though the Brady comments are out of line, he is hardly the first to say words to that effect. Third, even though Welker's comments are true, he really should have kept them private. I'm actually surprised that the Philly media and fans didn't make a bigger deal of what he said; I imagine that's due to the cynicsm in the area that has gone for a while without a championship.

I am serious what does this have to do with football?

That all Philly writers and fans should kill themselves. It has nothing to do with football. It was a joke. You know? Ha...ha?

those were supposed to be philly fans and writers in the synopsis?
