Almost all questions about dropped passes seem to relate to each other, so I'm starting a thread for them. First two:

    1. How were Gaffney's hands before he came to Patriots? More like he's been playing this season, or more like last?

    2. Are any of these drops Cassell's "fault" for lack of touch or something? He's been playing with these guys half a season now, in a pass-heavy offense, so "lack of experience playing together" is getting thinner as an explanation. The INT to Moss was certainly a hard pass to catch, for example, but isn't Moss the guy who catches those even so?

I'm done with Gaffney. The Moss play was just unlucky but Gaffney is costing us games. Time to try Aiken or Washington.

Both plays were on the receivers, both were picture perfect throws, one was a tougher catch but the guy asked to make it is getting $9M to make it and more costly since it resulted in a drive killing turnover that ended in a Miami TD...

They weren't close in terms of ease of catch. Gaffney did rebound after my post though.

    No Jersey Selected

Every pass that has been dropped has been the receivers' fault, and has been so for the last few games. The throws have been where they have needed to be, almost every time. Amazing, really.

We used to league the league in fewest dropped passes I believe somewhere between 01-04.

The attention to detail on hands and catching passes has really gone down the past 3 years.

Wow! what a shocker! Guess who's back to highjack yet another thread with McDaniels bashing. It's NEM Jr. I give you credit for illuding to it without outright bashing McDaniels.

BTW, I think the Pats faired pretty well with few dropped balls last year and even in 2006.

Over the past couple of weeks there were a few tough balls to catch that were dropped. I remember one pass to Welker that was behind him. Today, they were catchable balls. I think the interception today was a tough one because Moss was being tackled as he was bringing it in, but it was catchable ball.

You are so insane that you see things when they aren't there. Why are you so obsessed with my posts, it is amusing in how consumed you are in defending any chance I may be criticizing your OC God.

We used to lead the entire league in fewest % dropped balls. The past 3 years we have seen some major gaffes in dropping easy passes.

    The truth is the truth.

That's a little harsh considering he's been pretty damn productive last couple weeks. He also had arguably the biggest catch of the game on a 3rd and 10. Going off the top of my head, we were at about own 40 yard line, Miami's crowd was really getting into it and we were only up 4 with Pennington absolutely carving us up for touchdown after touchdown. If we don't convert there and go on to score on the Moss touchdown, maybe Miami wins.

I will agree he's had some pretty horrendous drops and one of them played a big role in them losing the game to the Colts...just not sure I agree with benching him when he's making some real big plays out there and is doing a good job getting open.

I already admitted I talked too soon and he came back to have a fine game.

    Um . . . sorry.

Not obsessed at all. Just want to point out your obsession with McDaniels. I am not trying to defend McDaniels at all.

I just don't think the numbers back up your assessment. If I remember correctly, the Pats had one of the lowest dropped ball percentage in the league since at one point late in the season Brady was still completing something like a ridiculous 70 plus% of his passes. How many dropped balls can you have if you are completing over 70% of their passes? I also know that Reche Caldwell dropped one ball in the regular season in 2006 and he was the lead receiver.

I also seem to remember Deion Branch dropping his share of balls during his tenure too.

Just put up or shut up when making these assessments because I don't think the facts back up your claim.

That's my bad, I didn't pick up on the fact that this thread was started at 1:28 PM during the game. Carelessly read through it and missed the time plus the end of your 2nd comment.

Of course not, you just happen to jump in immediately anytime someone dares to criticize the offense. We get it, it's never McDaniels' fault, it is always on the player and on execution, right you Colts-sounding fan?

You aren't fooling anyone, you are on McDaniels' nuts 24/7, you should wipe that goo off your face, it's showing.

Because you turn every thread into a McDaniels bashing thread. You are really pathetic in that way. This thread has nothing to do with McDaniels vs. Weis, but you highjacked it to make it that way.

Either back up your claim with real hard data or we can just just chock it up to your bizzarre obsession with bashing McDaniels. Until you do, I am done with this. If you prove that your claim is right with hard dropped ball stats, then I will man up and admit I am wrong.

You are a joke, buddy. The evidence is clear in this thread, no mention was made of your OC God until you brought it up. You are way too over-sensitive in protecting your man-crush.

Please keep claiming to be 'over this' and then predictably jump in out of nowhere anytime someone criticizes the offense in any way, and then hijack that into why McDaniels can do no wrong. Your words carry no credibility at this point.
