    "Dammit"
    "set up a perimeter"
    "just trust me"
    "open up a socket"
    anytime Jack tortures someone

    Gotta luv 24

And Dave Barry's 24 blog is freakin' hilarious!

    http://blogs.herald.com/dave_barrys_blog/24/index.html

"Here are the schematics of the plot perimeter:
The highlight of last week's episode was the heartwarming moment between Jack and his dad, Farmer Hoggett, when FH made Jack kneel down at gunpoint, but decided -- The old softy! --not to shoot Jack in the back of his head. That's how you show true affection Bauer-family style: by not killing a fellow Bauer."

    What about...

"I need a chopper to pick me up"
    "Thank you Mr. President"
    "We're out of time!"
An available satellite to instantly give real-time video to CTU.
A low-res heavily pixelated zoomed-in image is instantly made into a perfect hi-res image by their computers.

Caution you may pass out and die from alcohol poising in this drinking game.

Here's a 24 pet peeve only us Mac geeks see. They show someone like Chloe using a Mac laptop. She's typing away they show stuff on the screen and then the camera angle changes to a frontal view. The Apple logo isn't glowing. Which means either the laptop is not on or the screen is off. :p

There must be something wrong with me, but I think Chloe is kinda hawt! OK, not as hot as Jack's recently room temperatured brother's wife. Maybe both of them...no, my wife might read this.

There's nothing wrong with you. She is hot because she's "attainable". And every guy thinks he could put a smile on that miserable puss. :D And, she's NOT afraid to yank a man off the toilet.

"Do you understand me"? is the single most said thing in 24. It was once a little inside joke, now it grates on my nerves every time I hear it.

LOL, oh I know. As someone who works in the digital video/media business, this makes me laugh every time I see this in a movie/TV show...there's only so much you can do to a given frame of a video, it's resolution is never going to get better.

How about anytime Chloe cops an attitude?

Or Morris specifices the wrong slot assignment for the SIP adapter? (no - we couldn't do that - people would just get far too drunk.)

UPDATE: Nadia! Using Milo's code! That slut.

UPDATE: Wow. One terrorist with a laptop can disable the whole US satellite network. He must have Vista.

UPDATE: Does it seem as though acting president Boothe has snorked down like 167 Qualuuds?

UPDATE: A leak? At CTU?? WHAT ARE THE ODDS????

UPDATE: So obviously Milo is the leaker, right?

UPDATE: President Payton is even more dynamic when he's in a coma.

UPDATE: Even dead, Audrey can suck the life out of an episode.

UPDATE: I want to make sure I understand this: The terrorists launched a drone, and nobody at CTU bothered to go looking for them. But CTU found the guy piloting the drone -- who I assume could have been anywhere -- because he set up shop THREE BLOCKS FROM CTU HEADQUARTERS. Well, sure! That makes a ton of sense!

Whenever Jack asks a question and then screams it out a second later.

    "Wheres the bomb?...WHERES THE BOMB!"
"Has the President landed?...HAS THE PRESIDENT LANDED!"
"Do you have the codes?...DO YOU HAVE THE CODES!"

    etc.

    I'll drink to that.

Anyone figure out why they waited for the Russian to completely download the data to his laptop before taking him out?

    "24" drinking game

Well, it's a bloody pub now, innit?

So, I've come up with the basis of a "24" drinking game for Monday nights, for those who watch that show. Get a shot glass and a bottle of your favorite alcoholic beverage, and drink along! (PS, if you just want to play along with "a sip of beer/wine," or even a nonalcoholic beverage, it's the internet so who'll tease you?"

Do a shot every time one of the following happens:
    * Anybody says (or more often yells) "DROP YOUR WEAPON".
    * Anybody says (or yells) "Lower your weapon."
    * The Bad Guys resort to torturing a good guy
    * The Good Guys torture a bad guy
    * (especially if playing this season's DVD, later): A Bauer family member betrays any other Bauer family member (apparent betrayals also count.)
    * Explicit threat against Bauer love interest (including implied maybe kinda love interest)
    * British reformed alcoholic guy takes a drink

Do two shots every time one of the following happens:
    * "DROP [lower] YOUR WEAPON" is followed by "or I WILL use mine."
    * A Bauer Family member tortures, kills, or attempt to kill another Bauer family member.
    * An act of terrorism leads to one or more deaths
    * Bauer phrases what he will do to someone, as a choice that person is making, and which he finds unpleasant at least in the abstract: i.e., "I don't want to hurt you, Graham." "Don't make me kill you." Etc.
    * International Sovereignty is violated (taking over a consulate, etc.)
    * The Presidency of the United States is transferred (usually via assassination attempt)

Drink the whole damn bottle if:
    * A nuclear bomb is successfully detonated
    * Jack Bauer dies

Any additions or modifications are welcomed... and somebody please remember to bump the thread Monday. If you find drinking alone unpleasant, we can at least find out how wasted we would get.

I've seen this (or ones like it) before but, it's time to update it. A nuclear bomb was successfully detonated. Jack lives on, against all odds though. :rocker:

    Re: "24" drinking game

Well, it's "ones like it" because I made it up this AM while procrastinating over things I took 2 days off to deal with...

You can't necessarily rule out other future nuke attacks, although as I understand it we're about to move on to Jack's china girl being held by evil Chinese... kind of hard to tweak - although we can add:

    (1-shot category)
Bauer love interest (or hinted-at love interest, like in Marilyn's case,) used as explicit (as opposed to ongoing) threat against him.

Basically, this looks to be a guaranteed shot per episode for the time being.

I'll edit that into the original game... keep coming up with add-ons, and I'll bump it for Monday night :rocker:

    Drink when:
Bauer says, "Do you understand me?" or “You have got to trust me”
    Jack says, "Dammit!"
Jack doesn’t have time to explain
A mole is discovered in CTU
A CTU tech says "Im too busy / I have a lot on my plate right now". (But, has plenty of time to stand around discussing or arguing over personal matters)

    Re: "24" drinking game

Good ones... I'll fold them in... but are you sure that "Dammit" from Bauer should be a drink? I'm thinking something as simple as "Dammit" might kill us all from alcohol poisoning by the second commercial break.
