Says he can't or won't tackle and doesn't like contact.

Yeah, 1st round pick for sure.

As for Youbouty, if his "technique is lacking", well, that's great. Not exactly what you want in a 1st round pick. Why hasn't he learned technique? Maybe he can't? Maybe he has poor ball skills. A first round pick should be ready to impact almost immediately, not a "project". How about a star at 21 like Lawson? Or if he's not available Chad Jackson? Or trade down.

Jackson and Lawson are at least as big projects as Youboty and Greenway.

There's very few "safe" picks in this draft. Bush, Huff, Hawk, Ferguson, Mario, Vernon, Mangold, Whitner. IMO, that's all.

Talk about hyperbole. Have you seen his tackle numbers ? He's ultra productive and clearly can and will tackle. Is toughness his strength ? No. But "draft site" to which you are referring is overdoing it.

Unfortunately for Greenway, its not just one site that is reporting this. I have seen it referred to on several sites that Greenway is more of a finesse tackler and that he avoids contact or tries to avoid blockers.

Yes and after wacthing a few games from last season you can see that they are correct. The interesting thing with Greenway is that the year before, he got after blockers with a bit more authority and played more like we would expect. So maybe the problem he had as a senior is more physical than mental. Shoulder stinger, slight separation or maybe even a small tear. If so is any team willing to gamble with a first round pick on a LB with a bad shoulder????
On the other side of the coin, if the problem is not physical, then Greenway really is more of a 4-3 OLB than a 3-4 ILB. (Which is where most predict he would play if he was in a 3-4)

I don't disagree, I'm just saying that it's nuts to say he can't tackle. Fine, strong tackling and fighting off blocks is not his strength - and we may not draft him because of it but to say he can't or won't tackle is way overstating it. He made 156 tackles last year, about 15-16 a game for a typical 10 game college season.

Greenway and Hodge played ILB side-by-side in the 3-4 scheme at Iowa. There is no doubt that he fits our scheme inside.

Good question. Seeing how he played for friend of BB Kirk Ferentz at Iowa, the Pats will know the real deal on him before draft time.
