Last year, I think we all had a lot of fun with this and it seemed to work really well (with special thanks to sebman for his "moderation").

The way we worked it was that everyone took a team, had x number of hours in which to pick and we did this for four rounds.

I picked as the Colts last year, so would really like a shot at one of the teams picking high. On the Planet, I am picking as the Rams so I wouldn't mind having a go as Miami on this game if we get it going.

What do you all think?

Sounds like fun, I'm in...

I'm def in
give me the weakest ugliest teams raiders... or just ugly... dallas

Well, that makes one for Miami and one for Oakland. Mavfan, do you have a preference?

I'd love to do this, but I don't have access to the internet during weekdays :(

When are you planning on doing it? I'd like to do the Cardinals (my token NFC team).

I'll take Indy.............oooopppps...........no first round pick. :D

I am in. Kansas City.

If it's alright with everyone, I'll take the only team I know jack squat about

Patriots for me please.... however if someone else really wants them, I'll take whoever.

Last year I played the hated Dolphins. And I believe that my draft went better than their REAL draft since they made the unfortunate mistake of drafting Ginn with pick #9. :D
Since I've proven that I am smarter than the Dolphins brain trust in 2007, I'll again outsmart another division rival in 2008... the hated Jets!

Compare my Mock Draft to the Dolphins actual Draft!

Dolphins Mock GM VJCPatriot

Rd 1
#9 Levi Brown OT Penn St - Enjoyed a solid rookie season, playing in 13 games and starting 11 of them.
http://www.nfl.com/players/levibrown/situationalstats?id=BRO548586

Rd 2
#40 Sidney Rice WR South Carolina - Showed flashes of big play ability in his rookie season, scoring 4 TDs.
http://www.nfl.com/players/sidneyrice/careerstats?id=RIC161100

#60 Drew Stanton QB Michigan St - Manned the clipboard for the Lions, essentially redshirting his rookie season as he watched Kitna go to work.
http://www.nfl.com/players/drewstanton/careerstats?id=STA482517

Rd 3
#71 Tim Crowder DE Texas - Was worked gradually into the Denver defense, played in 13 games, and recorded 4 sacks in his rookie year.
http://www.nfl.com/players/timcrowder/careerstats?id=CRO702762

Rd 4
#108 Yamon Figurs WR Kansas St - Enjoyed an outstanding rookie year as a special team returner, scoring a touchdown on kickoff returns and another touchdown on punt returns.
Averaged 24.7 yards per KR and 10.7 yards per PR. My solution to the Dolphins loss of Wes Welker appears to be just as dynamic as Ginn, and at a MUCH cheaper price!!

Now let's compare the Dolphins actual Draft.

Rd 1
#9 Ted Ginn Jr. WR - It's no secret that Ginn has been a bust as far as receiving goes. Despite Ginn's big play abilities, he only totaled 2 touchdowns his rookie year. Ginn has shown flashes, but not enough to justify a top 10 selection. His best contributions during his rookie year, have been on special teams, where he averaged 22.7 per KR and 9.6 per PR. Both return averages are lower than those of Yamon Figurs.
http://www.nfl.com/players/tedginnjr./careerstats?id=GIN403290

Rd 2
#40 John Beck QB - Showed some flashes when given the reins, but he could do little to turn around one of the worst seasons in NFL history. ESPN liked Drew Stanton better as a QB prospect. What brilliant GM picked Stanton 20 picks later... oh wait, that was me!
http://insider.espn.go.com/nfldraft...ft/draft/tracker/team?team=mia&draftyear=2007

#60 Samson Satele C - Started all 16 games under center, his rookie year. Satele has established himself as an important cog in the Dolphins offensive line, however they are going to need to add more pieces to turn around that overall horrendous unit.
http://www.nfl.com/players/samsonsatele/situationalstats?id=SAT401790

Rd 3
#71 Lorenzo Booker RB - Provides a change of place player to the Dolphin's Ronnie Brown. He's a backup player for a reason though. Don't expect him to carry the load. Booker features the ability to catch passes out of the backfield.
http://www.nfl.com/players/lorenzobooker/careerstats?id=BOO032357

Rd 4
#108 Paul Soliai DT - Played sparingly for the Dolphins in 2007. Soliai only got into 8 games and recorded 3 tackles as a rookie. The Dolphins are still looking to reinforce their porous defensive line in 2008, which was ranked #32 overall, dead last, against the run.

Last year, we started this during the weekend. Whoever moderates it (probably better if it is someone from the US for time zone reasons) can take your list and pick whoever is left. You have to be organised and rank everyone in the order you want them. I used Excel last year (with the help of Miss G) and it worked wonders.

Hi
I had a lot of fun researching the Panthers last year. But would like to try my Hand at rebuilding the Falcons this year.

This was origanlly my idea a couple years ago so i am in and i'll take any one
