Re: Dolphins, two other teams negotiating with Jason Taylor.

If the Patriots don't get him after all this smoke and mirrors, silent negotations, secret deals, handshakes and back slapping with him and all the teams I hope whoever ends up with him other than the Patriots overpays greatly...enough with the drama, just sign with someone.

Re: Dolphins, two other teams negotiating with Jason Taylor.

The other two teams are the Pats and the Buccaneers.

Re: Dolphins, two other teams negotiating with Jason Taylor.

Isn't this the same site that said about a month ago that the Dolphins and Taylor were finalizing a two year deal? It looks like it would come down to the Pats, Fins, and Bucs with the Bucs being a long shot and most likely even involved so Taylor can try to drive up the asking price.

Re: Dolphins, two other teams negotiating with Jason Taylor.

I would love to have him, but I too would like to know soon whether he's our ally or our enemy. Just get it done one way or the other.

Re: Dolphins, two other teams negotiating with Jason Taylor.

Well, we'll see if JT truly wants to play for a contender; with the NEP currently instituted as 4-1 Super Bowl odds, you're not going to find a better contender in the NFL.

There's a subtle difference between contender and favorite. We were the favorites in SB 42, but the 11-5 Giants won the game. Dolphins were an 11-5 playoff team last year, so if JT feels he's going to get a better role for himself there, I don't think the contender argument is going to work against that.

Assuming $ is a wash: Best shot at ring vs. close to home.

Re: Dolphins, two other teams negotiating with Jason Taylor.

Have to say, even as a 35 year old he'd bring out cold sweats in me. The only way I want to see him back in the division is wearing the Flying Elvis.

Re: Dolphins, two other teams negotiating with Jason Taylor.

i have to admit i would like to see him with us; he could have some extra motivition playing for the Patriots with a real chance to win

Re: Dolphins, two other teams negotiating with Jason Taylor.

This has been in the wind too long. Reminds me of the Sox and ARod dance. And look how that turned out.

And Teixeira. But there was Moss too...and Taylor will sign with another team so it is not so far fetched (less so than Peppers)

Re: Dolphins, two other teams negotiating with Jason Taylor.

I expect Taylor to return to Miami.

Re: Dolphins, two other teams negotiating with Jason Taylor.

Pierre Woods or Shawn Crable better have worked their tails off in the off season.

Re: Dolphins, two other teams negotiating with Jason Taylor.

Two of the three teams are Florida teams where he lives.

True, but at least we have a 2/3rds shot at having him either sign with us, or Tampa. Only 1 outta 3 that he signs with Miami, which is all I'm really worried about with the whole saga. Just don't add to a divisional foe at least.

Although I'd like to have him too, we'll be fine w/ or w/o him, regardless of his decision. He could very well be overpriced too, we just don't know.

Well, that figures. I hope the Pats press hard to interfer and land him. I think they have to. The one thing that we did NOT improve this draft was the pass rush...where we hurt last year, even with Vrabel.

If not, one big name out there still that I have not seen play the last few years, but wondering if he has ANYTHING left in the tank is Derek Brooks. Anyone know if he would even be worth a look? Would HE add to our pass rush? I know in 2002 he woulda but... any thoughts?

hypothetically, if he were to sign with the Pats, what do you think would happen to the Vegas Odds for the Patriots immediately after? Would it alter from 4/1 for the superbowl and 2/1 for the conference?

NFL Future Book Odds at VegasInsider.com, the leader in Sportsbook and Gaming information -

I wouldn't expect a change to be honest. The 2-1 odds for winning the AFCCG, and 4-1 for the SB are already maxed out pretty well. They've already changed since last week, and they still have to keep the 'evenness' of wanting to bet both sides. I couldn't imagine them changing them anymore, but that's just my opinion. If they reduced them any more, the value in the wager would be lost, if it's not already.

Were JT to sign with the Phins Aqua4Evah a.k.a. Wide Recievah will have to eat his words (I know, I know, for the 50th time, but still...) since he trashed the guy when he paniced over the rumors posted here that JT was gonna be a Patriot. Too funny.
