Dolphins tape breakdown

Some final thoughts from the fourth quarter:

-Pats modified the play action pass a bit so it didn't include an arm extension and ball fake to the RB. This sped things up a bit, stemming the pass rush and getting Brady's eyes downfield quicker. This resulted in one of Welker's big gains of the day, as well as the pass that Aiken dropped diving.

-The punt and kick return blocking is just plain terrible.

-Dolphins continued to keep seven in to protect, usually leaving 3 WRs vs. 3 CBs - Pats stayed in their base defense w/ 3 CBs, leaving a safety - Meriweather or Chung - deep.

-Mankins had trouble against a DE on a stretch play, blowing the thing up.

-Right side of the line (Koppen, Neal, Kaczur) all got manhandled on a 1st-and-G, a Morris run. The Dolphins shaded their 4 DL weak, creating 1v1s on those three OL. All failed, as did Morris' run. That's why the Pats switched to the passing game in the red zone.

-On Brady's INT in the end zone, the Dolphins lined up with an exotic, DB-heavy look, leading Brady to make some line calls before one of the LBs - Taylor? - moved from one side to another. Once that happened, Brady called him on it quickly, then it looks like he tried to rush the snap. At first, it looks like he meant to do the shotgun kick as the call, but had a brain/leg malfunction, before he got it right, and then actually did a double leg kick for the snap. Then he very quickly launched a pass in Moss' direction (1v1 vs. Davis), which was picked.
