Bob Dole sends Rat McCellan an E-Mail:

"There are miserable creatures like you in every administration who don’t have the guts to speak up or quit if there are disagreements with the boss or colleagues.

"No, your type soaks up the benefits of power, revels in the limelight for years, then quits, and spurred on by greed, cashes in with a scathing critique."

The email was authenticated by Politico.com. Why does it matter where Harry read the story?

There are those who point to Scott's family background, apparently his mother has a history of stabbing people in the back and switching parties in order to gain more power and money. I don't know and I don't really care, honestly.

Hey, GJAJ: if Scotty took cocaine, how long would it stay in his system? Twelve hours, or longer, you think?

Why is it that for the last two days not one
republican has said that what McLellan wrote
    is false.

Not one republican has entered into any
form of debate, or debunking, of the
    topics of the book.

All they have done in unison from the
republican talking point war room is to
    attack the messenger (McLellan) and
have said virtually nothing about the content
    of the book.

    I wonder why. Don't you?

What has he said that WAS new................ That we fukced up the "run-up" intel to war? Gee thanks, scotty. We didn't figure that one out 4 years ago

Mr. Bush and his aides didn't zackly scores high marks in the early Katrina response?...... SHOCKA...... Ya don't say.

The Plame sh!t is sooooooo fukcing tired, to tell you the truth I stopped reading it. It's a bore at this point. Both sides are plenty wrong on that one. Is any of it NEWSWORTHY anymore. Not really.

I'm pretty conservative, and nothing I saw was particularly revealing to me. I think if YOU READ the book, you might find there is acually more complimentary stuff about Bush then these negative things, which I've heard. His editior got him to rework some of the book to make it a better read. That's the story anyway. Who knows.

You can get all wet and juicy about the book, but I know when I saw the bullet points, I was like - THAT'S IT. That's boring, I already knew this stuff.

Those are the big ones I've seen, what are the other BIG NEWS ones. I'm curious, and too lazy search it out, cuz from what I see, it all retread stuff if those three were the headliners. I could be wrong.

My question was why did he hang so long, if he thought it was so messed up? That's a fair question to ask?

Love the rationalization of the source.. if it was from Huff post it would be a wright wing circle jerk.. unbelievable how different standards exist because of lazy people.

Not sure about the last comment, but I stand on what I said for the last paragraph.. in this thread it is a very stupid and unnecessary comment.. but then what can I expect... keep beating dead horses.

I agree. Scotty boy is no better than Stephanopolis whe he left CLinton. Peas in a pod. They both parlayed their experience in the White House for riches in the media. Backstabbers both of them.

Thats exactly the only point I was trying to make, we all know much of his sh!t book is true but McCllenan The Man is Garbage, nothing but a lowlife "Rat" if he was a "Real Man" he would have spoken up when he saw it, the man is a sniveling little coward but like all stool pigeons it is all turning around on him it won't be long before even the "Loons" won't talk to him.

Dole's E-Mail was Doles E-Mail just because the link was News Max didn't kill it, MSNBC was blubbering and whining over it also.

I feel sorry for The Rats family.

I wouldn't feel sorry for the family.

The NY Times at one point nicknamed his father "Tell All" Mclellan, and his mother is that strayhorn chick who tried to run for govenor as an inedependent, since she found herself out of both major parties for various reasons. It's easy enough to see the family tree, it's all there for the googling.

Was there anything in this book that is really new or actual first hand revelations? I haven't heard of any. And yes, if he felt things were wrong he should have resigned.

It's also my understanding that a left wing publisher put the $ up for this because the main stream publishers would not touch it.

Actually, when he said "Yeah I did"
indicating that it was he that gave
the authorization to leak the classified
info that revealed the name of a
CIA covert operative was very big
news as it put the president in
    jeopardy of eventually being charged
with a high crime, possibly even
    treason.

It will however be very difficult to
prove it unless a witness suddenly
pops up that heard the president tell
    it to McLellan.

    Is that a possibility? Maybe.

In either case that and many other
topics in the book are in fact very
    different and very damaging to
    members of this administration,
    including Bush himself.

    Fortunately for Bush, Cheney, and
some of the others, it occurred very
late in the final term in office and
there probably is not enough time to
    begin and file charges, including
    treason so anything that happens
    regarding these disclosures probably
won't happen till after January 20,
    2009.

Hey, Welcome to 2006 buddy.

The rest of us already got that memo a long time ago.

Outside the fact that the president has the authority to release any classified document, please continue to wow us "uninformed folks" as to the high crimes and misdemeanors angle for which you speak. Despicable, you can make that case, but treason, put's you in the "Bush lied, people died" to far gone from reality camp.

Again, show me the NEW stuff.

    yup, agreed :singing:

The following are classic examples of rightwing reaction when their lies have been conclusively exposed.

    The ad hominem attack.

Attack the source and anyone associated with the source. Close associates are preferred (i.e. family members). Always avoid the FACTs, focus instead on the "motives and character" of the source. Disguise basis for attack by claiming that the attacks "are true" or the attack questions "fair".

Commonly used tactic by the rightwingers. Tactic has proven to be extremely successful on rightwing sheep and works well on mainstream sheep when promoted by rightwing controlled media.

    Example 1:

    Example 2:

    Example 3:

    Example 4:

    Propaganda (Changing the argument/Lying)

If forced to confront the facts, then lie about the meaning of the facts or shift the argument so that the facts become irrelevant.

    Exmaple 1:

Rightwing sheep is attempting to minimize the significance of the fact by changing the fact (it was a mistake made by everyone) and claiming that the fact isn't new information.

The actual FACT is that McClellan states that Bush MANIPULATED the facts to wage war on Iraq. Note that this is quite different from an unintentional error committed by varied parties (the fairtyale the righty is trying to sell)

Also, while sane nonrighties suspected this fact for many years, not only have many of the mainstream sheep bought Bush's lie but the righties on this board have been arguing for years that Bush didn't lie and manipulate evidence. In fact, patsfan13 was yapping this point several weeks ago.

    Example 2:

Here, righty is attempting to minimize significance of facts by pretending that there's nothing new. While Bush didn't fare well in the public eye for Katrina, many righties tried to shift blame onto the state governance, the people involved, etc. These facts are relevant because they conclusively show the extent of Bush's incompetence. Righty's reaction here is akin to someone claiming that a Rams' walkthrough tape is irrelevant because we "already suspected there was one" had Walsh produced such a tape.

    Example 3:

When the righty's lies don't work, he never fails to try shifting the argument and also shifting the blame. Thus righty claims that we should ignore the facts revealed about the Plame incident because it's "tired", despite the fact that righties have been arguing constantly on this board that Bush had nothing to do with Plame's outing. Guess it wasn't "fukcing tired" then. If that doesn't work, then the righty hopes to minimize the damage by claiming that "both sides are plenty wrong on that one". The last desperate move of the righty is to appeal to the shortened attention span of the mainstream sheep; McClellan's statements are irrelevant because the Plame subject hasn't been in the news for awhile.

    THIS ISN'T WORTH MY TIME!

When ad hominem attacks and propaganda fail, pretend that you really don't care enough to be bothered to address the facts.

    Example 1:
Note, this is a righty who has been searching to locate every piece of information on "Obama's Russian uncle" but is too "lazy" to search for facts that just could be unfavourable to Bush. How surprising.

I don't. I've had enough experience with the rightwingers that I'm not surprised by their modus operandi.

I actually don't think it would have mattered when this information was released. The Democrats are impotent cowards, the Republicans are masters of propaganda and the voting sheep are too numerous.

Not one of these brain dead dittoheads has the ability to debate, or debunk, the truth. They simply follow the Rovian rule, attack the messenger.

Ever since the McLellan book hit TV, every single right winger has gone after McLellan and said absolutely nothing to debate the content.

Why is that? Because they know they can not debate the truth, and if they do, eventually they will be as mush of a lying bastard as Bush is. The will continue to attack the messenger and go down with the ship.

Some, of course, will drown, while others just might find themselves in Leavenworth, or worse.

I have been saying this for years now, and have taken heat for it. Now lets see who laughs last.

A minimum of 16 years, maybe longer, with minority republican representation in the White House, or congress about to become reality.
