Check this CNN video out. Don't they black out stuff like this, or bleep the "N" word on TV? I'm asking cuz I think they do, but they didn't here. It says "N" across his shirt, and then he says the word later. It just seemed odd to see and hear it like that.

    Translation from that interview:

"Look at me, look at me, look at me......"

It's a rare example of a little bit of maturity by the media. Personally, I think the censorship of words when not used in an offensive context is absurd.

The "N" word has a nonoffensive context?

I find the N word to be one of the most offensive words in existence. Nice vid though. Elizabeth H. gives me a serious chubby. I never knew she was half...and half Italian. :D The View totally sucks. Those women don't know much to begin with, then they yell, cry, and say sorry "I love you". WTF is that? A good cat fight every now and then would be nice. :disagreement:

I hear the word "N!gga" way more than I care to count. I hate it even though I should be more immune to it. Every time they say it I think "brothers" which is basically the context it is always used in. Brothers does not always mean blacks either ... the word is also used by hispanics also.

What I don't get is that the word "brothers" was a somewhat socially acceptable word and for the most part the word "N!gga" is offensive to just about everybody. The word "brothers" used to mean the blacks ... I don't think it ever had a negative conotation ... though I could be wrong. I know many of the blacks that I knew called me "brother" also ... I guess I was accepted as a "brother" ;) in their minds.

So why can't they get back to the 70's and 80's use of "brothers" ... I don't get it. The explanation that they took control of the word may have been true in the past ... but that explanation no longer holds any water. More African heritage people ... not just African-Americans need to step forward and launch an assault on the word ... people like that idiot Whoopi Goldberg need to be slammed until they learn to help rather than to hinder.

    The "N" Word:

The black community wants the "N" word stricken from all speech and writing's yet THEY THEMSELVES keep it alive.
    SO BE IT.
