-Last night Gruden made it an effort to emphasize a few times that if the Texans had their other tight end, Graham, their offensive showing would be different.

-Some texans players and fans are saying that the patriots showed their hand last night and the texans will have the upper hand next time.

I just want to know if we're living in an alternate reality where Gronk doesn't exist. doesn't the addition of the best tight end in football make a team that hung 42 on the texans that much better?

    Silly Franchise12.

Don't you know the rule? Injuries are a valid factor for every other team in the league except New England.

Having Gronk back, plus Mankins should have knocked the rust off, and Jones should also be abit more productive after healing from his injury.

All good news for Pats and bad news for their opponents. :rocker:

Is there any chance Gronk is back this week vs. SF?

Forget the Gronk element. I never got "the Pats showed their hand and X Team will have the advantage the next time" argument. I don't think the Texans held anything back either. They showed their hand too, but their hand was a pair of deuces while the Pats had a royal flush.

Everyone points to the 2010 Patriots who crushed the Jets in December and then lost to them in the playoffs as proof of the Pats showing their hand too early, but I believe that was more of a fluke. The Pats had control of that game early and then a few miscues totally shifted the momentum the other way.

IF the Pats and Texans meet in the playoffs, I would expect the Pats to bring something different. The return of Gronk will be significant. I think they might have even more of a deep threat if Stallworth sticks and that will also increase the outside threat. And I doubt Welker will drop four easily catchable balls again.

Not sure Welker's dropped passes were entirely his fault. Brady was off at times. After the game I think he mentioned there were alot of yards left on the field.

Pats will be fine tuning for their rematch while Texans will have to completely revamp what they did.

Not likely. That would be 4 weeks to the day since injury and less since surgery. He's going to need some practice reps first to get accustomed to playing in a protective hard cast. Better to have a healthy Gronk in January than a rusty one in December. I'd be happy to see him worked back in gradually the last two weeks if possible just to shake the rust off.

I'd add AHern getting back to his old self too. Last night was the first time felt he was 98% there. Now we just have to hope guys who got dinged last night -- mostly Talib and Dennard -- are good.

Welker's been dropping critical passes all year and ever since the last SuperBowl.

I love Wes, and Tom might have been off but I swear I get frustrated with him sometimes.....it's like anything-other than a sliding catch-that requires the smallest amount of athleticism or extension to catch the ball is too much.

It just seems to me he is so used to Brady hitting him square in the stomach. Is there such a thing as a high ball that's only 2 feet over your head in the NFL? His attempt to catch one of those balls was laughable there. Didn't even have to fully extend his arms to reach it.

Certainly a "come on man" moment...

    Does GRONK Exist?

Hmmmm, scientists say 'No'; well there was one guy who produced a grainy video showing what appears to be a GRONK-like creature spiking a football in the endzone, but that video was shown to be a hoax. It was produced by a delusional Rats fan who claimed GRONK played for them.

Personnally I believe that GRONK IS real, and the proof will be seen in a Pats uniform, spiking footballs in endzones around the league in the not too distant future, and will continue on though to the Superbowl.

At that time the GRONK will hoist a Lombardi trophy and prove his existence to all non-believers.

Clearly you were in the bathroom when Wes made his catch at the 4 yard line.
