When we went up 31-14 and he mentioned we were in the exact same position last year I wanted to reach through the TV and strangle him.

Between him jinxing us constantly throughout the game to Simms's Cold (Which sucks cuz he's the only one I like on that crew) the commentating blew today. Not to mention the microphone distortion from all the ubiquitous Manning knob slobbing.

Anyway, I'm happy we won, but God I'm sick of that guy.

I knew it was the same type thing, and told my wife before Nantz ever said it. I imagine most of us remembered it and don't fault them for bringing it up.

I did feel bad for Phil, though. He sounded like he gargled a box of razor blades at halftime. Hope he feels better by Thursday.

No. There is no such thing as jinxes. It's the Patriots defense you should want to strangle. It was a victory which did not leave me feeling good. If not for a pretty much unforced error by Manning on his final play, we blow a 17 point lead for the second consecutive game against that team. The offense tried to sit on the lead and the defense is terrible. It was win, we're 8-2, we've beaten the Colts and Steelers in back to back games, but I still have an uneasy feeling about this team.

i feel like he jinxes us too. Everytime he says something like "Brady hasn't been sacked in 3 games", Brady get sacked. "Brady hasn't thrown an interception in 3 games" Brady throws an interception. Drives me nuts. I dont hate the guy but I wish he would stop saying things like that sor my own sanity.

I was on board until this line. I knew it was a bad throw the second Manning let it go because Cunningham was all over him.

I don't have any problem with him except for the fact that he has called 100 pats games and still says Wilferk.

On another commentary-related note, did anyone see the Jest game and notice how much the commentators were slobbering all over the Jest (but mostly Sanchez and LaClassian)? It was disgusting.

Yea, I hate when announcers do that. I remember during the eagles-pats game in 07, "Eagles haven't had a sack from a linebacker all year....and Brady is sacked by ==>Insert eagles linebacker name here<==."

OK, maybe you're right about that. I didn't go back and rewatch the play before I wrote that part. But take that out of my post and the point still stands though. This game almost gave me an ulcer.

Nantz seemed really disappointed when the chargers missed that FG and at the end of this game too. I'm starting to dislike the guy alot

Poor Phil Simms, hope he gets better soon. He was sounding like Woody Paige except sane

I hate it when people do that!

BTW, did you know Heinz Ward got knocked out of the Steelers game last week?

It sucks cuz I love Phil Simms but I can't stand Nancy Boy and his constant Manning reacharounds. I wish Greg Gumble and Simms would pair up again. That was a good team.

jim nantz always plays up the underdog in the game or the team which is losing. During the AFCC champ game when everyone thought the pats will get killed by the colts he and simms were touting up the pats. So thats how he usually slants during games. So watch for the lions to be upped by him on thursday...

At least Sanders made an interception with 30 seconds left. Jets are lucky, we are weak.

It would not surprise me if we lost to Detroit Thursday.

Nantz? Has he removed his mouth from Manning's groin?

Nancy is a good guy - you cant blame him for what happens on the field. I like the fact we seem to draw CBS #1 Announcing team on many weeks. It speaks to the ratings pull of the Patriots as well as Krafts relationship with the network. Better Nance and Simms than those turds who did the Cleveland game. Imagine this town having to sit through CBS's D team.....

Yep, this is what I noticed today too. He was desperately hoping for a miracle Colts win the entire second half, and then was bummed at the end.

Nantz isn't awful but he sometimes shows he has a little Bob Costas in him and that can get annoying really fast. Simms is great, though he sounded like Tim McCarver while battling his laryngitis.

Damn right it was. I thought we were cooked and that was a perfectly rational thought at the time. Fact of the matter is Manning is DAMN GOOD.

I am not a fan but I respect his ability and consider myself pretty fortunate to be able to witness this rivalry the last 10 years.

I don't know how you guys notice this stuff, I'm in a trance during the games. I only realize things they say when my buddies have to repeat it to me, because I tune them out so hardcore.

The thing I'd want to ask Nantz is who the hell is Vince WILFERK? It's WIL-FORRRK
