Another example of the Lemming News Report, Dobbs claimed he was shot at in the privacy and sanctity of his own home, then Bill O'Reilly buys it hook, line and sinker.. sure there is outrage there somewhere in the Pine Barrens..

Stray bullet hits Lou Dobbs' home, he claims victimhood, and Bill O'Reilly buys it | Crooks and Liars

Tough to believe that a rifle intentionally aimed at the Dobbs, could have been intended to do harm.. it did not even penetrate the vinyl siding...

It is all about the ratings... media whores all.

Maybe a little bit of an over reaction. Sometimes when you put two and two together it doesn't add up to four. Look it, he had been getting threatening phone calls that have been escalating in frequency. Then his house is hit with a bullet. Then more threatening phone calls. It should be taken seriously. OReilly jumps all over it because if it was true he can get a lot of mileage out of it. It turns out that it could have only been a hunting accident but the police have only said that it hasn't been ruled out: Sgt. Stephen Jones confirmed to ThinkProgress this morning that the New Jersey State Police are stilling ‚Äúlooking at all the possibilities‚ÄĚ and that a hunting-related accident has not been ruled out.

BTW. What's ThinkProgress doing all over this story???? Do you think they'd care in the least about it if it was indeed likely an intentional shot at the Dobbs house? Ironically ThinkProgress's involvement at this stage proves they are no different; they only have different agendas. It seems media whores with agendas cross all party lines don't they?

Dobbs is a drama queen. STFU and let us know when someone's actually trying to "kill you". Same goes to all the other do-nothings on TV.

Interestingly enough, Mr. Dobbs says he's been receiving threats and that a fire was started on his property not too long ago - but he's never reported any of it to the police.

In an interview on Friday, Mr. Dobbs said the shooting followed a series of threatening phone calls. ‚ÄúThey were coming with great regularity‚ÄĚ in the months before the gunshot, he said. ‚ÄúSince that shot was fired, we have not received a single phone call.‚ÄĚ

Mr. Dobbs said he did not report the threats to the police. He also said a fire had been started on his property a couple of months ago, and he said he did report that to the authorities.

That, on it's own, seems kind of weird doesn't it? Why wouldn't he report repeated phone threats to his home phone? Why wouldn't he report that someone started a fire on his property?

What's more, a neighbor says gunshots at this time of year are commonplace in Mr. Dobb's neighborhood - and that no one thinks anything of it.

Bill Ross, a longtime neighbor of Mr. Dobbs’s, said gunshots were common in the area.
‚ÄúEvery day almost, it seems like somebody is target-practicing,‚ÄĚ he said. ‚ÄúTo hear a gunshot, I don‚Äôt think anything of it.‚ÄĚ

I'd wait to hear the results of a police investigation before I'd go thinking anyone was trying to harm Lou or his family.

Not really...Now, GLENN BECK may be a drama queen, but not 'ol Lou Dobbs. I like the guy personally. He doesn't seem to take sides. Kind of a softer version of Bill O'Rielly.

    How is everyone missing that?
From the first article Darryl posted:

The only problem: It was almost certainly a stray shot from a hunter's rifle, as Andrea Nill at ThinkProgress reported yesterday, well before O'Reilly's broadcast:

While Dobbs and his anti-immigrant supporters were quick to jump to conclusions about the motive of the shooting, Sgt. Stephen Jones confirmed to ThinkProgress this morning that the New Jersey State Police are stilling ‚Äúlooking at all the possibilities‚ÄĚ and that a hunting-related accident has not been ruled out.

If you read the ThinkProgress article it's clear they're hyping Dobb's reaction to the shot fired marginalize his stance on undocumented immigrants:

The New Jersey State Police‚Äôs investigation has not progressed to the point where it can confirm or deny Dobbs‚Äô allegations. However, considering the fact that Dobbs has ‚Äúrepeatedly amplified the falsehood that undocumented immigrants are disproportionately violent,‚ÄĚ it‚Äôs no surprise that he immediately connected the incident at his home to the immigration debate.

Ironically while Fox's O'Reilly is laughed off for his buying into Dobb's take on the incident, Fox's Rivera is credited for exposing Dobb's agenda, but thats just a side bar. My point is that if it was found to be a real pot shot at the Dobbs home I wonder if ThinkProgress would have reported the incident at all and if they did would the flavor be that he's bringing it on himself?

    Apologies.

Regardless... Crooks and Liars and ThinkProgress do not hide their agenda. Fox meanwhile, attempts to, even to the point of having slogans that laughingly actually say "we report, you decide" and "fair and balanced."

That's true I guess generally but you'll find a lot of differing opinions on Fox that few acknowledge....one example is right in this story. O'Reilly and Rivera are diametrically opposed on immigration. You should see the two go at it. It gets pretty heated.

Yeah...they put on a pretty good show...just before they go out for dinner and drinks after the show. Talking heads are useless on any network. They cannot be considered primary sources for what's really going on anymore.
