Hard to say. He certainly doesn't want to go back to the Oakland-type situation but think about how many other teams he could take from "almost there" to the mountaintop. Think about Moss with the Steelers and the Pats without him...pretty evenly matched aren't they? Or God forbid with the Colts?

Make no mistake, Moss is *key* to thye level of dominance the pats are displaying right now. Take him away and they are still a top 5 team but not *the* team.

So, IMHO, give him more money tahn any other WR (cause he is the best) or Franchise him.

I think that if he asked for alot of money. The only teams that could afford him are bad teams with money and i dont think he wants that.

Remember when Dillon came here? He said this was the team he wanted to end his career with. He was true to his word, as least so far. The difference is Moss can surely continue to play at a high level longer than Dillon did. I think he stays. He's been on successful teams and bad teams, but none like the Patriots. There's no going back.

Well you know there is a *lot* to be said for having a good work environment. By that I mean a place where your talents are well used in successful endevors and you have only a minimum of self-serving @ssholes to deal with. Those situations are rare in an y occupation. It takes a mature individual to recognize their value though.

Here is his quote from last night:
    He Really likes being here.

    We Really like having him.

I think we should give him a six year $48M deal with nearly half that guaranteed.

We could probably get him for a bit less. He could certainly get more elsewhere if not hit with a franchise tag. (Although he might not be able to get that much guaranteed.)

Let me remind you of the following:

This was Moss upon being asked about taking a pay cut to play for the Pats after the trade.

Tom Brady is one of the best QB's that ever played the game -- if not the best. He has adjusted his salary to bring talent to the team, but he still makes plenty of money.

Randy Moss is one of the best WR's that ever played the game. He adjusted his salary to come to a team where he would be in a winning situation and be happy. We got him on the dime. Now it is time to play him on the dollar.

The guy is flat out outstanding. And in addition, who would have thought, a team player and a leader.

    Pay him. Period.

If PATs have a plan and a cap figure for their receiving core and they
explain it to Randy I think he would accommodate as long as they
make a reasonable offer. I could see him accepting 7M/yr.

i think if we get rid of Donte, we would be EXTREMELY happy to offer the same deal to Moss, wut did Donte make as average? 8/yr? i think Randy will accept 7/8mil a year....and i think pioli would be happy to give it to him

I think the Pats keep Moss for a number of reasons.

    Belichick loves him
    Brady loves him
Randy appears to love NE (and why not?)
    NE loves Randy

If he leaves the Colts would most likely try to sign him now that it looks like Harrison is having health issues. Belichick isn't going to give a weapon like Moss to Indy.

I think it was Schefter who spoke about how much Moss loves it here and how he loves playing with Brady. I see no reason really why he wouldn't want to and I'm fairly sure BB would love to have that type of height and talent back at WR.

onegameatatime Third String But Playing on Special Teams

I've assumed all along that someone will offer Moss a ridiculous amount that BB will not match. He came here to rehab his image, and next stop is the huge payday. The way he's playing now, why would he not get a max contract? Jevon Walker got 5 year, $40m, with $15m in bonuses in the first two years.

I do not think there is anything wrong with it if Moss takes the money and runs.

But ... I'd still like to see us keep him. As pointed out, he's the difference between the best and being historic.

TO signed a 3yr/25 million dollar deal with Dallas. Considering they are about the same age, offer similar production, and have had bad divorces elsewhere, I would expect Moss to sign something similar to that. I'm thinking a 4yr/32-36 million dollar deal with a 10-12 mil signing bonus would get it done.

    Moss isn't going anywhere.

He either re-signs with the Pats or he is tagged.

    One or the other.
