I went for choice 3. I, a confessed Peyton Manning hater years ago, feel badly for him that a tough injury has perhaps ended his career, and certainly his season. I feel bad for the players on the Colts who are trying to play hard, like certain members of their defense, who until last night, seemed to be trying to keep the team in it.
I feel a little joy, though, when I think of Polian and the owner, and how much they've hated the Pats over the years, tried to stack the "competition" committee to favor themselves and have smugly proclaimed (with that dumbass Mike Felger carrying their bags [not recently though]) that you could pay lots now to a few players, let other good players go, and not suffer tomorrow under the salary cap. Ha ha ha ha I say to that.
But, lets face it, the league is like a shark, it just keeps moving, and if you don't move along too you'll get eaten. Yesterday's Colts are today's Packers or even Bills. We shouldn't be too smug because there but for the grace of God go us. What would we do if Brady went down? Yeah, we did okay with Cassell, but that's when the defense still had some of its superbowl stars and Randy Moss still played receiver. Could Hoyer or the frosh come in and run a complex offense 24/7? I hope we never get to find out.
Go Pats. Tough luck Colts. On to the Steelers!!
