Can someone explain to me why David Gregory hasn't been arrested yet?

Cops told NBC not to use gun clip - Katie Glueck - POLITICO.com

NBC was told by the Washington, D.C., police that it was “not permissible” to show a high-capacity gun magazine on air before Sunday’s “Meet the Press,” according to a statement Wednesday from the cops.
“NBC contacted [the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department] inquiring if they could utilize a high capacity magazine for their segment,” Gwendolyn Crump, a police spokeswoman, said in an email. “NBC was informed that possession of a high capacity magazine is not permissible and their request was denied. This matter is currently being investigated."

That statement comes a day after the police department told POLITICO that an investigation is underway to determine whether any city laws were violated on a Sunday segment of “Meet the Press.” During the show, host David Gregory displayed what appeared to be a 30-round gun magazine while interviewing Wayne LaPierre, the head of the National Rifle Association.

I'm confused. Are high capacity clips legal or not?

As Mrs indicated could have been from Va, I'm guessing it came from one of his half dozen armed to the teeth body guards he prolly employs.

The right wing blogs are all over this along with trying to deport Piers Morgan...

Funny how they want to prosecute David Gregory, but continue to gently massage the testicles of the NRA.. the same NRA who influences congress to grant the gun manufacturers freedom from any liability and the same NRA who will not allow any head of the ATF to be appointed..

The same NRA who wants to legalize carry laws all over the US..

Duplicity at its finest, keep massaging boys..

Meanwhile some real crime seems to have happened at Freedomworks in DC.. apparently Dick Armey staged a violent coup at Freedomworks.....

Does anyone want to explain how a National Gun Registry would have helped in Newtown, Aurora, Columbine, Va Tech? We knew who did it.

But we do not know who will do it next or who may be planning some type of insurrection..

Skip over Dick Armey and his armed coup.. quite all right, focus on Gregory and Piers Morgan..

Gregory berated the NRA guy for advocating armed policemen being assigned to schools mocking the idea, yet the school he sends his kids to Sidwell Friends has a Security staff of 11 including a number of ex police.

Guess he thinks the common folk are entitled to the protection that his kids (and Obama's) get.

    Typical lib elitist.

The idea is that if you let your gun get in the hands of a criminal, then you are in trouble. Fines or charges could be brought up on you. It will be illegal to be an irresponsible gun owner. Maybe you try a little harder to make sure that doesn't happen. Then your gun doesn't wind up being used in a crime. That's how it works. Many thousands of guns wind up in criminal hands because there is no accountability to those owners that sell them or have had them stolen. They are lethal weapons. It's not like your ipod was stolen. A fenced in pool is a law in most places. Fence in your guns so that they don't wind up in the wrong hands.

    that would not have, either.

you see the thing that most people refuse to stomach is that if someone decides to do something that will kill many people even at the cost of his/her own life, he/she will succeed in killing.

you can blame the guns, but people will find other ways.....the ways are countless.

we need to address the issues in our society that trugger such behavior. what makes someone hate everyone else so much?

I'm not a fan of Gregory's actually. He's too partisan but he tries to play like he's not. Did anyone challenge him on that? Anyway, don't a lot of high level politicians kids attend there? I know Obamas kids go there. That makes them prime targets. The security protects the kids but I think the other concern is that they can't be used as pawns to get at the President or other high level figures. Most schools do not have that problem. It does look hypocritical though.

Post on the topic or don't post at all. You seem to use many threads as an opportunity to attemp to discredit the other side. Which is a bit childish, no?

Don't make me have to warn you again Darryl. You seem to do this quite often. You also seem obsessed with blogs.

    Now, back on-topic....

I don't see why showing a clip is so bad. Was it loaded with bullets or just an empty clip?
