After spending lunch break perusing PatsFans in hopes that BB had found a way to morpf Caldwell and Gaffney into one person, a Gaffwell or Caldney, I fired up the CD "DIO Anthology" to get some work done. Not only is R.J.D. one of the best Big Hair Rockers that's still able to preform like he did in the 80s, he's also a prophet. Some of the lyrics in "The Last In Line" had this Patriot's season nailed. It kind of freaked me out. He wrote the song in 84.

    Two eyes from the east
It's the angel or the beast
    And the answer lies between
    The good and bad

    We search for the truth
We could die upon the tooth
But the thrill of just the chase
    Is worth the pain

We'll know for the first time
    If we're evil or divine
    We're the last in line
    We're the last in line

    Here's the song's full lyrics:

First off....who the hell is Dio?

Second, what on earth do those lyrics have to do with this team?

Seems like an awfully big reach.

Kind of like when I found out that William Carlos Williams poem "red wheelbarrow" was supposed to be about communism. Pure gibberish.

I saw him at the Hampton Beach Casino maybe 10 years ago and he was tremendous. As for the lyrics, the first verse is Brady and Moss, (the angel and the beast, good and bad). In the second verse the fans look for the truth, but could die upon the tooth, (Moss), but being a Pats fan is worth it all. The Pats have always been viewed as devine. With Moss and Merriweather are we now evil? Non-fans have said so. ...the last in line? You'll have to ask Dio although he does say "the first in line" once near the end of the song. It just hit me this way. It was better than listening to WEEI.

RJD is truly extraordinary. I just saw Sabbath at the Broomfield Events Center for the Heaven & Hell Tour. All I can say is that one one of the best, tightest rock shows I have ever seen. Dio's voice is still amazing. Tony is one of the most underrated guitarist around and Geezer Butler can play the bass just as good and anyone to pick it up.

I have been rocking out Sabbath/Dio ever since the show.

You still might be able to get Rhino's limited edition live CD from one of their shows back in the day. Just released with the tour for this year. Only 5000 copies. Check out Rhino's website for more info.

Dio's back with Sabbath on the Heaven and Hell tour - wake up :)

There's some bootlegs on youtube, Dio looks his age but doesn't sound his age.

Yeah, but does 'The Red Wheelbarrow' have anything to do with the Pats? You know, the 'white chickens' and 'rain water,' could be prophetic....

Dio has one of, if not the, best voices in heavy metal ever.

I just got that CD yesterday...amazing!

Can't wait for the live DVD in August from the NY (RCMH) show. A friend of mine saw that show and told me I'd be a fool to miss it. I liked H&H even better than when I saw the original Sabs at Ozzfest in '04. Dio seemed more youthful than Ozz, even though he probably has about six years on him. The band, as a unit, seemed to be having more fun this time around. It probably was a relief to get Sharon out of the picture.

    Great CD.

The band just announced another tour here in the US for the fall. They are coming back to the Denver area. Just bought my tickets last Friday. Ticket master should have seats for all the cities on the your.
