The Messiah on the situation in Georgia:

"We should continue to push for a United Nations Security Council Resolution calling for an immediate end to the violence. This is a clear violation of the sovereignty and internationally recognized borders of Georgia – the UN must stand up for the sovereignty of its members, and peace in the world."

Guess BO was at a protest march the day they covered the UN, see BO Russia has a permanent seat on the UN Security council and that allows them to veto ANY resolution, does he really think they would allow a resolution condemning their actions in Georgia?????
    '

What a moron, one can only imagine the reaction if Bush had ever said anything this stupid...:singing:

What is the point of suggesting something that you (should know) has NO chance of happening. Russia can veto any resolution it doesn't like???

How can BO not know this.. seriously.

Hate to tell you this but the rocket scientist ( what was he 444 out of 464 in his class) on the other side keeps referring to Czechoslovakia...

If you say messiah enough times maybe someone will believe it, how about if everythread started with adulterer for McCain.. all of this is crap and if people just stuck to the issues and let the name calling go politics would be a whole lot more interesting.

That's why he used the word "push" not "get through".

By doing so, when Russia vetoes it, he gets Russian precedence on the record. In the future they cannot posture horror when they want US out of something and we veto it. He knows the UN is all about PR and posturing - - and unlike the current Chimp in Chief, he knows how to play it.

Obama is showing foreign policy savvy - - something sorely missing the past 7.5 years by the "Talk loudly and carry no stick" crowd.

Maybe it's in high school that you learn the power of being ostracized. While Russia does have veto power, being forced to use that veto power to block a resolution would be embarrassing to them. When you think about it, the only power in a resolution is to bring shame to the country to which the resolution is directed. You can't veto that.

Yeah I'm sure Putin is shaking in his boots at the thought of being ostracized....:singing::rolleyes:

Example of why libs are so out of touch when it comes to foreign affairs. MCCain apparently recommended going to NATO and threatening to kick Russia out of the G8, at least they would have something to lose (shame on Bush for not doing anything BTW).

    Bo is clueless.

Putin wouldn't care less. His actions in Georgia prove that.

It was an uninformed statement by BO. It shows he's way over his head when it comes to foreign policy. Due to his inexperience, his standard response to any world confict will be to go to the UN, not good.

I seriously can't believe you are advocating not even exploring the UN despite how weak they are.

Don't you think if they call Russia on their actions and the way Russia acts could raise an eyebrow to the rest of the G-7?

The think that is so similar is how the US invaded Iraq and essentially bypassed the UN. You don't think that sent a message to the rest of the world?

Honestly you just don't like BO and you're nitpicking. Just like people did with the flag waving of Bush.

If you're goonna criticize come up with something good.;)

A first and easy step is to condemn Russia. If Russia is forced to use it's veto power, it would be an embarrassment that would put a good deal of pressure on them. McCain, not surprisingly overreacted, for now Russia has declared a ceasefire. Bush and Obama were far more sensible. As I've said a long time ago, I preferred Bush to McCain because I think McCin is unstable and could easily lead us into adventures even worse than Iraq. McCain is so clueless, but it's revealing that you oppose South Osssetians right to self-determination (they are much more closely aligned with the Russians) and embrace borders defined by the Soviet Communists (which made South Ossetia part of Georgia). I suppose it's no surprise to see common ground between American right-wing and Soviet dogma. After all, how else can we explain the Marxist roots of some of the neocon leaders of the Republican Party.

Yeah, i was so irritated when W was sucking up to him. McCain disagreed, he said that he saw three things when he looked in Putin's eyes: a K, a G, and a B. So far, that's an accurate statement.
