Free agent from what I'm hearing. Any chance we sign this guy?
Gronk - Hernandez - Pitta
no room for Pitta
A #4 TE would have to be a special teams whiz I'd think
Pitta is a RFA. No way are the Pats going to pay him starter money and give up a draft pick for him. They aren't going to pay starter money to any TE with what they gave Gronk and Hernandez.
The TE position is all set, enough already. The Pats should focus their time and money on actual positions of need.
I'll just add Pitta > Hernandez.
Hernandez: 38 games, 175 receptions, 1956 yards, 11.2 YPC, 18 TDs, 51.5 Y/G, 1 Super Bowl TD
Pitta: 43 games, 102 receptions, 1075 yards, 10.5 YPC, 10 TDs, 25.0 Y/G, 1 Super Bowl TD
Pitta, start of next season: 28
Hernandez, start of next season: 23
I'd stop digging now.
Just when I thought your posts couldn't get any worse...
Anyway, Pitta is a decent player, but we're looking for a bottom of the roster TE-type or a FB/HB, either of which he certainly isn't.
Think about how much cap $ we already have tied up in the TE position and all will become clear
Looks through thread. Welp, I guess I'll have to be the one to say it. SIGN THE BEAST!
fixed that for you
...."and the Pats bring out their 5 TE set"....
Jake Ballard: 14 games, 38 receptions, 604 yards, 15.9 YPC, 4 TDs, 43.1 Y/G
We don't need no pittas.... Gronk/Ahern/Ballard - GAME OVER. :rocker:
