I'm not even watching it. If it's anything like the last one, they'll just spit out talking points at each other, though McCain better do something different if he wants to stay in the race at all.

But yeah, of course Obama will be declared the winner.

Why did an very liberal former newscaster get to choose the questions?

This is a surprisingly dead thread tonight... no comments on the debate?

Why can't we EVER see a REAL debate instead of these stupid script recitals? I want to see the candidates go toe to toe.

Perhaps because it's almost a foregone conclusion that Obama has won the election.

Brokaw is looking weak as a moderator and both of them are just railing off the same old scripts. Yawn. This isn't a debate.

This is not McCain's format. Walking around favors Obama.

I may be wrong, given my perspective, but Obama is more effective at answering the questions, and McCain seems too old.

Like I said this format favors Obama. McCain's stiffness from his POW wounds is emphasized in this format.

Obama lucked out that the question was about social security (no one really cares) and could go back and get the last word on the tax issue.

Isn't this the format that McCain wanted?

I think you're right. It really contrasts their ages, too. Also, I think Obama's attacks on McCain are more subtle but just about as effective.

Brokaw's doing a poor job, too.

Wishful thinking. He very well could win, but the polls were very different mere weeks ago. A lot can change. It might, it might not; but the American public is very fickle, so you never know.

I'm getting so sick of this "McCain voted 23 times to______" and "Obama voted against ______ 11 times" it's so out of context when they say it it's really meaningless.

I agree, but McCain isn't doing much to help his cause.
