This report says it is three games.

I think Steve was speculating that the suspension was through the end of the season, but I don't want to put words in his mouth. He's a forum regular here, perhaps he will respond and clarify. To the best of my knowledge there has no official announcement as of yet from either the Patriots or the league in terms of the length or specifics of Deaderick's suspension.

More on it here from Erik Scalavino of Patriots Football Weekly:

… there are still more questions than answers surrounding this story right now, in part because the move has yet to be confirmed by the team. But it’s possible, I suppose, that he could be suspended just for this week, then brought back in time for the Divisional round. That’s if, of course, this is a team-imposed suspension and not a league one, which would take the control away from the organization. Again, there’s just too little information right now to offer a substantive analysis.

Makes sense but this information is nowhere else and no source is offered. There is obviously an outside chance of Wright returning or they would not have kept the roster spot open, but those chances diminish with each passing day he is unable to practice. I gotta assume we will fill the open spot on the PS and go with what we got:

Wilfork
Warren
Pryor
Love
Cohen

I see no harm in bringing in another DL who may or may not be used.

With that DL, dont you think Patriot fans should be worried about Baltimore? The Patriots are best at taking away what the opponent does best, and with the Ravens that is running the ball. Can a DL with those names do this? I am very skeptical of it. I think the Patriots should be scrambling to find a decent name DL to come in and provide the help that they need.

A lot of posts about a guy who played 220 snaps this season
To me it is less that than the break of discipline, the house has been in order this year to an impressive degree.
Combine this with the fact that they are far more secure than the State department (though I would actually read a Pats Wikileak...)

Something had to happen to torque Coach off enough to make this serious of an example, at this time.

On another note....since the Pats suspended Deadrick could they activate him after this week and have him for active for next week's game? I haven't seen anything official from Pats come out about suspension. I remember the Colts suspended their punter for 1 week this season.

One has to think that Deaderick made a real dumb mistake because next season there will most certainly be an embarrassment of riches at DL as we see Ty Warren come back, along with Brace and Wright; also Pryor, Love, Wilfork, and the other Warren, who has been holding his own pretty well. Not to mention that Eric Moore will almost certainly occupy a DL spot because we already have Cunningham, Ninko, and TBC at OLB, along with what will probably be a high pick for a 4th OLB. Our first pick is probably going to be a DE or DT.

Ty Warren? Who's he? Hey Ty aren't you glad you blew off the off-season program last year to get your fricking degree? How's that working out for you?

The National Football Post quotes the Herald as saying that Deadrick was continually late for team meetings. Bye Brandon.

Bill isn't gonna accept childish behavior and selfish players whose main focus is not the team. Example: adalius thomas, randy moss.... It was the right thing to do even though now we are a little thin on the D-Line.

It's a long run from the Olive Garden to the practice field.

Especially from rarely used ( 20% of snaps ) rookies.

You can put words in my mouth if you want to, in this case, because you are correct. There was a report very early that it was a three game suspension, and I went with that. I wish I could remember the source, but it was probably 6am and I wasn't paying attention super close. It may have been radio or TV, but I am not scouring to look for the source at this point. I missed it, and I am moving on. I did roll out an "EDIT" this afternoon on the post. As The Hoodie says: It is what it is.

As we have learned today, it's a team suspension, meaning they can do what the hell they want. It would surprise me if they lift the suspension at some point. No information, just a track recrd that BB does the unexpected.

Given that this is a team suspension and BB can pretty much handle this any way he likes, I don't see a lot of reason for concern. If he thinks we can afford to suspend someone right now, then so be it.
