Not only that, he's got some of his facts wrong.

2) Borges says that only Wilfork and Watson are still in the NFL from the 2004 draft. What he doesn't mention is that Marquise Hill isn't here because he's deceased. He makes it sound like Hill was a failure when the players said otherwise.

It was specualted by many before his passing that Marquis Hill was going to be cut by the Pats that summer.

While the draft is an inexact science and the Pats have been one of the better drafting teams over the last decade, IMO Marquis Hill was not one of those successes. Sorry he just wasn't.

Looking at that list, a couple of good kickers were taken in the 6th round, but we already were set with Ghost. Prescott Burgess was taken at #207 by Baltimore, and is now on our active roster. ILB Brandon Siler was projected as a possible first day pick at one time, but fell all the way to SD at #240 due to character and stiff hip concerns. RB Ahmad Bradshaw obviously fooled everyone (including the Giants), or he never would have lasted until #250. Otherwise, of all the players taken in the last 2 rounds, I doubt any of them would have made it with the Pats.

Again, it shows how impressive it is that all 4 of our 2009 6th and 7th round picks are either on the 53 man roster (Ingram, Pryor, Edelman) or on the practice squad (Richards), and also how good this team has been about picking up productive FAs (Gay, Wright, Woods, Guyton, Hoyer).

I personally thing 2007 was a tremendously productive draft. We came away with a starting safety (and possible future pro bowler) in Meriweather, traded our late 1st round pick for what turned out to be a future probowl ILB and defensive captain in Mayo, traded our late 2nd for a probowl WR in Welker, and traded our 4th for a probowl WR in Moss. That's 4 potential pro bowl players out of one draft. Hard to do better than that. So what if a lot of late picks didn't make the roster. 2006 was the only draft that I ever felt was really poor.
