Who cares? Faulk can put it on his tombstone, as far as I'm concerned.

    My Jersey:

The fact that Faulk (and Kurt Warner) continue to bring this up speaks volumes about flaws in their character and an inability to accept reality. Eleven years later and he still has not accepted the defeat, instead focusing on a need to justify why he and his team did not win with a whiny excuse is pathetic. For them to hold on to this, for this long is pitiful, and an indication that both are in dire need of psychological help.

I agree...it makes it almost comical. He comes off really whinny considering that what he is claiming has no basis in reality.

How does this fat faced, pre-pubescent, California raisin look-a-like figure he was cheated? Because he was de-cleated a few times coming off the LoS? Because of unsubstantiated reports that we taped their walk-through? Get over it, Marshall. You lost. Deal with it.

Exactly...Warner too. I remember before that game he was speculating on how winning 5 Super Bowls sounded about right to him, that's how many the Rams would probably end up winning during their run.

    Heh.

What ticks me off more than Faulk's statements are that guys like Mike Florio at Pro Football Talk are in a position to comment on the allegation with facts, and yet they always fall short.

For example, Florio comments that the allegations of taping a walk-through were "never substantiated".

Ummm... go a bit further there, Mike. Those allegations were RETRACTED by the rag paper that made them.

If i have one complaint about the pats is the absolute miserable PR job they did by not responding to any of it. They dont care for the national media or what they say and its understandable but pats fans have to keep hearing this forever. Its the unfortunate truth.

As time passes, the one thing I lament is the poor PR job that this team has done on these types of issues.. they just take what these twitter loving jackazzes put out there.

The Pats should have refuted Spygate and refuted this crap.. as much as I respect BB, this is one thing that I wish he would change..

Yeah, right, Pats must have taped that special Marshall Faulk kick return plan and that's why he went out of bounds untouched at the 6. Way to be accountable.

I saw this earlier and thought the comment about "the Rams only got into the Red Zone once — and they scored a touchdown" was pretty funny. Too lazy to look up if it's true, but it's funny.

Watch out. The band of homers around here aren't going to like that one. But you're right. This is something that Belichick should have set straight right from the get go.

"I know, in that game, in the red zone, the plays we ran, most of them we hadn't ran most of those plays that year," Faulk noted. "And a couple of plays on third down that we walked through also . . . Any time that I was offset, I was always stationary. And we had creating motioning in the backfield at the same depth on the other side of the field. And they created a check for it. It's just little things like that. It's either the best coaching in the world when you come up with situations that you had never seen before. Or you'd seen it and knew what to do."

The rams didnt reach the redzone until late in the 4th. what happened before that? I hate these blanket statements . And of course no one will respond from the pats leaving fans to keep responding.

    Wrong guy.
I blame Kraft for this. He's known for his low profile negotiator compromise for the good of the league style. I'm sure he told BB to zip it. Worse yet, BB is awful as a spokesperson on those kinds of issues. He cannot control his disdain, disrespect and sarcasm so he does the right thing and says nothing. You're asking a pig to fly.

I'm still pissed at Kraft's hands off on this issue. Pats PR professionals needed to be tasked with formulating a message and correcting the total fabrications that exist to this day.

Ironically, many are Steelers fans. Of course, they will tell you that steroid use by the 70s Steelers was okay because steroids weren't outlawed until the 80s. They have no problem believing that a memo issued in 2006 is retroactive, though.

This is what I wrote on these comment section of PFT -

" I know for a fact that Marshall Faulk is a wife beater and pedophile.

What? What proof do I have?

I didn't know that I needed any. I thought you could make unproven, salacious accusations, and Florio would publish them if he thought they'd get him hits. Have I been misinformed? lol
    "
Such a load of crap. BTW- I'm pretty sure that my post has been deleted. If you say ANYTHING that is even remotely critical of Florio on one of his writers, they will delete it. However anything anti-Patriot or pro-Steelers will be highlighted.

That's fine. But some high ranking official within the organization needed to come up and say something. Look at the Saints. They came up and immediately clobbered the media with Bountygate. How many times have you heard about that (the more recent scandal) lately as compared to Spygate? Because, to me, we've all heard a lot more about Spygate lately than Bountygate. A lot of that has to do with fans and media running wild with a lie. The least the Patriots organization could have done was get their viewpoint (which is the truth) out there in the wake of the scandal. Instead, they didn't. The result is that, to this day, we still hear the same lies over and over again and those lies make national news.

I have said this before and I'll say it again: when you fail to respond and defend yourself it's logical for both the accusers and the observers to conclude that what you're accused of is the truth.

I'm a "homer" and I have no problem with your take on this. In fact I think you are right.

Personally I'm tired of having to defend the Pats from morons like Faulk on a regular basis. About the only joy a Jet fan has these days, is to tweak Pats fans with "Cheater talk". That's not MY job. Its about time the team stood up and defended itself. Look a what a comprehensive defense did for the Saints. They got a lot of people to think they didn't run a bounty program.

Given the fact 24% of the country believes God picks the playoff winners it wouldn't take much of a defense to make some headway.

    play-by-play:

    USATODAY.com - Super Bowl XXXVI play-by-play

1 redzone possession for StL, 1 TD.

All 3rd down stops by NE for the entire game:

3rd and 18 from the SL 49: K.Warner pass to M.Faulk to NE 40 for 11 yards. Punt.

3rd and 3 from the NE 32: K.Warner pass incomplete to R. Proehl. made FG

3rd and 5 from the NE 34: K.Warner pass incomplete to A.Hakim. FG missed.

    3rd and 1 from the 50: K.Warner pass incomplete to R.Proehl. Punt

3rd and 17 from the NE 48: K.Warner pass incomplete. Punt

3rd and 5 from the NE 45: K.Warner pass intended for T.Holt INTERCEPTED by O.Smith at NE 37. O.Smith to SL 33 for 30 yards.

    3rd and 20 from the NE 49: K.Warner pass incomplete to T.Holt (O.Smith)

    summary:
one 3rd down stopped by INT
three stopped, as expected, on 3rd and 17 or more yards
two stopped on 3rd and 5 attempts (a distance that favors the D)

So it would seem that the two 3rd and short incompletions to Proehl were really the Rams only really good 3rd down shots at keeping a drive alive. Making two stops is cheating. OK. Or maybe you can run it on 3rd and 1 from midfield, you pansy.

I understand what you're saying, but Willie shouldn't have to do it. The wimps running this effing organization should have had the balls to do it the minute they were accused. I'm guessing very few of Kraft's contemporaries accuse him and his team of being cheaters. Rather, it's been left to us chumps, the fans, to bear the brunt of this BS all the time and in particular every year at SB time. And in case any of you think the rest of the country is past this and thinks Faulk and others like him are wrong, check the comments, likes and dislikes on the PFT piece. Or, better yet, walk into a bar any place outside of NE with a Pats hat or jacket on and see what happens. This organization has left the fans holding the bag and should be ashamed of itself.

Perhaps Faulk would be better served being pissed at Mike Martz' arrogance and playing right into Belichick's hands.

I really do sort of feel sorry for him. Just can't get over it. Feels the pain of the loss stinging him to this day. Oh wait... I am not sorry. That's why I love the Pats, Marshall, because eleven freakin' years later, you're still cryin' about it like it was last Sunday! :rocker:
