Repubx | Thought Crime Bills Threaten Talk Radio
Wow, great news.
That article is a bit of a stretch, though.
Left Wing Liberals hate Talk Radio, they tried to compete in it and nobody listened to them so if they can't play they want the game ended.....Censorship, Communism, Socialism, Nazism, what would we call it.......
Yeah the left is clearly "jealous" of the fringe right's political power... that's right up there with "afraid" of Sarah Palin.
I see the psychological perspicacity of the fringe right is up there with its talent for political analysis.
Keep laughing and talking UNTIL the table turns around and you wish that this law wasn't passed. In that moment, don't complain about why somebody shut down your LIBERAL broadcasting stations.
The laws doesn't apply one side.
Why do they want talk radio destroyed, they have admitted it, they can't control who listens to it so the only other thing to do is Destroy & Cesnsor.
What does "perspicacity" mean...............
If they aren't afraid of Sarah why are they obsessed with her.
Conyers Wife is the one they should be destroying.
A perfect example.. Hal Turner.
This law is an attempt to deal with hatespeech.
Nothing to do with first amendment.
You guys are reaching. Again.
But Harry says liberal radio couldn't compete (more like they didn't want to lower themselves to righty standards). So what have we got to lose? Point being is liberal broadcasting is not out there spewing and encouraging hate all over the place, so there's nothing to worry for liberal radio about there. And the only righty stations that have anything to worry about are the ones that do spew and encourage hate. Are you going to defend these?
The Democrats want to fight hate as badly as the conservatives want to fight abortion. Hate is a big deal. It's interesting that the same people who want torture also want hate.
Unfortunately, you change the definition of 'hate'. When I criticize your gay group, you call me a hater. When I posts Obama threads, i'm an Obama hater.
I don't really know what is so hateful about it??????????:disagreement:
This is a LIE. I call it BS. When Republicans failed to SUPPORT a comprehensive immigration reform in 07, did your liberals say something about us 'hating' 'hispanic'?
You change the definition of 'hate' so many times that i don't even know what it is any more.
I can be called a 'hater' if i criticize a gay person or Obama even though i don't use any violent or degraded comments toward them.
Drop your 'hating' BS because it doesn't make any sense.
Hating individuals is a lot different than hating a people, but even with individuals the word hate is much too strong. Hate is language that could incite others to violence or other forms of oppression. Hate is marginalizing a group, such as saying all Germans are secretly Nazi perverts or all Rednecks live in trailer parks. If we as a nation allow that kind of hate, it will simply continue. Teaching people right and wrong, such as it's wrong to hate blacks, makes it more difficult for them to hate.
As far as hating an individual, that's different. Chances are, if you hate Obama, you don't hate him because of his skin color, but hate him because of something more profound. At any rate, hate is a very strong word that should be used very selectively, I think.
You don't think that i'm an Obama and gay hater? I need a YES or NO answer please. Can you do it for me?
It's hard to tell, you come across as quite angry in some of your posts, so I suppose you have the capacity to hate. But, in my experience with angry people, most of them know who they really hate, and I don't think you hate Obama or gays. There are probably other people in your life who you reserve that feeling for.
Lumping in talk radio with hate is both ignorant and self serving. The democratic party does'nt have the stones to deal with those 'extemist groups' whom have made hate a way of life. They would also rather undermine our intelligence agency than protect our freedoms.
I hope this passes.
What a great idea.
The Constitution protects your freedom, not the Republican or Democratic Party, but it's certainly in the national interest to discourage hate, and frankly I don't want my airwaves to be used to disseminate messages of violence against anyone. It is not a hate crime to say, "I hate gays" or "I hate Christians." It is a hate crime to incite and advocate violence against them. Is that what you're trying to defend? Could it affect talk radio. Yes, but I doubt if it would affect Rush, for instance. It would affect those like that Turner guy and other real extremists. Rush Limbaugh is a right wing nut, in my opinion, and at times a provocateur, but he does not call for murder, assassination, etc. He seems to respect the will of the people, even if he wants desperately to change it.
I dont want my government drawing that line on our public airwaves. It's that simple.
Do you know who? Idiots and arsholes.
Separate names with a comma.
