And here I thought the sky was falling..!! :D

    http://www.noaanews.noaa.gov/stories2008/20080313_coolest.html

In the contiguous United States, the average winter temperature was 33.2°F (0.6°C), which was 0.2°F (0.1°C) above the 20th century average – yet still ranks as the coolest since 2001. It was the 54th coolest winter since national records began in 1895.

did you know that climate change doesn't mean continuous warm weather, and that it also means both extreme cold temperatures too?

So in other words, no matter what happens, you see it as evidence that you're right. Yeah, that makes sense....

Besides... what "extreme cold temperatures"...? This winter has been steadfastly in the middle of the road.

Ain't facts a b*tch, mav...?

It also means a nice, solid average winter which the numbers say it was. Extra cold, extra warm, average, it's all climate change, silly :D

Amen :D I remember reading a quote in an editorial once... I wish I could remember who to attribute this to, but it went something like:

"Whenever we have warm weather, the alarmists see it as dangerous climate change. Whenever we have cold weather, the alarmists see it as dangerous climate change. And whenever the weather is perfectly normal, the alarmists see it as dangerous climate change because, as everybody knows, the weather is supposed to be constantly in a state of flux." :rocker: :rocker:

i thought against responding, but you're so dumb i have to point this out.

it's really sad that you think the 54th coolest winter in the past 100+ yrs proves anything.
what do you want, massive temperature change every season that is blatantly obvious?
oh that's right, you're the same guy who thinks the economy is doing fine, too, until it's too late.

on both issues, you'll probably eventually figure out... but not until it's blatantaly obvious to everyone already.

Boy it sure is a good thing for you that the moderators don't enforce the rules of this forum against liberals, or that might actually be considered a personal attack...

I understand your frustration, Mav. Pompous ignorance is difficult to argue with.

It shows that, even if Man Made Global Warming exists (which I don't believe), there are far more powerful forces out there.

Oh good grief, here we go again. The SUN?! For a more scientific perspective, perhaps you will believe these folks: http://www.ucsusa.org/

Obviously it's the sun. What caused and ended the ice age if there weren't naturally occurring large scale weather changes ? And why did the earth warm about 0.6 degrees the past 50 years and also warm the same 0.6 degrees the previous 50 years when there were no, or next to no, cars.

It's crap science to say there's more CO2 and the earth has warmed so that's the cause and effect.

Why ? Because Al says so I guess.

It's not all just on Al's head. Via your perspective, there are thousands of otherwise well-respected scientists around the world who somehow do an about face and practice "crap science" when it comes to the subject of climate change. Hard to figure.

I still want to know why there has been dramatic climate change through the history of the earth long before man was pumping CO2 into the atmosphere.

This looks like a real good paper, although I'll admit it's late so I only skimmed it :

    http://media.kusi.clickability.com/documents/Comments on Global Warming1.pdf

Someone on the MMGW side, please review the chart on Page 5 and explain how those massive periods of warming and cooling could happen IF IT WASN'T THE SUN of various intricicies of the earth's rotation and tilt.

Wait a minute, are you saying that the Earth revolves around the Sun??? Didn't we already have a thread about that! Quick call the mods, they are slacking! It is obviously some rightwing bias that allows threads like these to keep poping up!

    (end toungue in cheek session)

It's all becoming clear to me now. The sun is Republican with a severe right-wing bias.
