Ah ... the big debate ... who truly is more compassionate? :confused2:

But hold on ... this gets more interesting. :attention:

Now here comes the smoking gun. :beatingcoming:

So ... it all depends on your criteria ... but overall liberals are cheap. :gossip:

Get it up lefties ... we can have Congress appropriate Cialis for your wallet if needed.

Would like to see a larger study in terms of how much is given as a % of available income.. perhaps it is my bias, the Dems have a healthy percentage of blue collar and people of lower income, while the pubbies seem to have more resources..

I have always had an issue because most people measure charity in terms of how much money you give. If you're rich you can write it off.

What should be measured is how much time you also donate to your community and to helping others.

that's one major problem with society today, everyone thinks you can throw money at a problem and fix it and you're a good person.

it's akin to the parent who buys posessions for their child but doesn't spend time with them.

if people actually helped each other by donating time maybe we wouldn't be so addicted to accumulating material crap

Low income people do tend to be very generous ... I've read that in more than 1 place.

I agree. But I also think that generousity can't be grouped into rich, poor, or middle class. If you are going to group it I think it would be better to group it into spending habits.

Do those who save regularly donate money or time?

Are those in debt(foreclosures, credit card debt) regularly donate money or time?

even then I think generousity is a personality trait like intelligence. some value it more than others, like education.

One thing none of these studies can equate is those that give because they want to and those that give because it helps them feel better about themselves and/or they are trying to buy a ticket to heaven.

hard to tell between wanting to(why does one want to?).... isn't it the same end in itself wanting to be a good person and going to heaven?

what's wrong with feeling good about yourself as long as it is sincere?
