A lot of people doubted our chances of winning having to come from behind, another NFL to-do for Cassel to check off his list.

I give him all the credit in the world. He looked really good, and I'm pumped about it. He didn't even have the arsenal of RBs to keep the Rams honest and he still looks great, and lead the team to a nice victory. Well done Matt Cassel.

Not to be a downer. But I have never really gotten all excited about how often a QB has a 4th quarter comeback.

Congrats to Matt for this and the games where we started the 4th Q with the lead. (my preferred way, ya know like last week against Denver)

I thought he was outstanding today. On 2nd int, welker stumbled or would have
caught it. Then, Welker had a big drop. And, Moss dropped a td. Getting a little
more confident each week in him.

I've been a charter member in the Cassel sucks camp but the last two weeks have thawed me a bit. The most impressive thing about today was that Cassel looked downfield confidently instead of panicking to the short outs, and, and this is BIG, he moved around the pocket soooo much better. It's tough to get too excited about torching the third worst D in the game (according to the numbers anyway) but this is what good teams do - beat the low lifes.

I don't know if it was due to game planning, but Cassel did very little audiblizing today at line. He most often just walked up and ran the play. Maybe the elimination of too many possibilities made him more sure of what he was doing because he would have had more yards and another TD if not for some drops.

One INT was clearly Cassel's doing, but the other was a little bad luck more than anything.

I'd give a B+. He somewhat reminded me of how Brady looked in year 2. And that is a lot coming from me.

The rest of AFC stinks so at this point it is not folly to give some credence to the idea that the Pats can wina playoff game or two if Cassel continues to grow.

the thing about 4th quarter comebacks is you have to be losing after the other 3 quarters :p

still exciting to see cassel get it done.

Good Job Matt. I didn't get to see the game and one of the things I was most interested was how he (and the offense) would handle being behind late in the game. Looks like he passed the first test. next test will be doing it on the road. He is maturing and evolving as a QB.

Which one was clearly his fault? The one that bounced into the air off Moss's forearm, or the one that Welker fell down on.

I'm sure we can also argue for another 3-4 passes that should have been INTs if the defender had caught the ball, jumped the route, etc.

So in reality it was another 6 INT day for Matt Cassel.

I'm more impressed with the fact that he won, DESPITE some mediocre play by his receivers then anything. He actually WON this game, instead of managed it. There were a couple costly drops and miscatches, but he did not seem to panic or press too much as a result. MUCH more poised in this game then the others. Coming off of last week, it gives me some room for optimism.

I'd like to see some of our injuries heal up some, as we are getting pretty lean out there.

not to be a downer but what does your being all excited matter. the fact is the pats came from behind to win. your being excited or not is of no consequence.

It was good to see him move the ball all day. If Moss catches the ball we're talking about 2 weeks of 41 and 30. I'd say the O is getting better. Rankings mean **** to me. The dolphins and chargers D absolutely sucks but they shut us down. There's obviously improvement amongst the unit. It's going to be big this week, I sure as hell hope the running game can get healthy. This is the key week to pound the rock against Indy's ****ty run D.

The one he threw to Moss - he threw it behind him a little and too early, not much, but enough that the timing was off with Moss. I will admit Cassel has thrown much worse passes this year have been caught, dropped, INTed, or dropped by a defender.

BTW- I know I should just be enjoying Cassel's progress but a little voice inside of me started saying, "He's going to get away from us at the end of the year and we'll get nothing in return." If he continues to steadily improve, someone will offer him some decent dough. Besides, why would Cassel stay here if he's offfered the chance to start somewhere else?

And for some reason - though I've been aware of it all along - when the announcer yesterday said, "Cassel hasn't been a starting QB in 8 years," it really resonated about how much was unknown about Cassel's talent, and how logical the idea is that it would take him at least a few weeks to find his game. I've been unfairly hard on the guy.

My point being is that folks put too much into 4th quarter come from behinds. In order to have 4th quarter come from behind you have to have been losing after 3 quarters. That is not playing consistent football.
