I have been saying this for years "legalize and control all drugs" doing so will put a big dent in crime, it will reduce drug related killings and violence and the best part of it will be to take away the filthy smelly drug dealer and deprive him of his millions and all of his fancy immoral lifestyle.

The baggy pant drug pusher in the school yard will be out of business and so will everybody else that makes money from Illegal Drugs (the white envelope under the table)

Legalize, regulate, and tax drugs just like we do alcohol. "Illegal" drugs are so easy to get it's a crime:p

For once, Harry, what you say makes sense -- with marijuana at the very least.

And there is absolutely no reason that medicinal marijuana should not be available everywhere for those who need it. I'm talking about the 70 year old chemo patient who suffers through nausea, vomiting and is unable to keep food down with no medicine that works but refuses to use medicinal pot because it's illegal. Make it available and take away the stigma for this purpose at the very least.....

I certainly agree, but there's no real (ie, rational and consistent) reason for it to be illegal at all

This government and all of Law Enforcement don't want Drugs legalized because there is big money involved with illegal drugs (lawyers, bad cops, drug enforcement agencys, correctional officers, the prison system, the court system, the re-hab centers, legal drugs would put all of these places and people out of a job for instance "The DEA" what would they do?

Many people and many agencys etc survive and depend on CRIME.

America Loves It's Drugs And America Will Get It's Drugs.

Even worse, there are the laws on seizure of property related to alleged drug-related crimes. Read the article on Reason earlier this year if you want to be sickened by the way police departments across the nation steal from citizens (i.e., it's not just application of these laws when people who are convicted)

I know I forgot about that one, they steal houses, boats cars trucks guns, beds, hot tubs and motorcycles.

Maybe some day they will smarten up, all they have to do is go back and look at prohibition and how that all turned out.

Exactly, look what they did to Tommy Chong. According to his wife who was there at the time, when the agent ninjas found 80,000 dollars one of them said " THERE it is!", and took it. They also went down into Tommy's basement and took all his sculpted bongs carved out of wood from some special forest somewhere, bongs that could someday have been worth a lot of money because they were handmade by Tommy.

There are thousands of cases just like his too, not all as famous but with the same MO as this case.

Ugh don't even get me started.

Or any state or federal forest in the US...

Remember when I lived in the North Woods of Maine, come Sept. all the poor folks most of whom were not employed started to buy newer cars, snow machines and the like.. took a while then I figured it out.. the county I lived in was the size of RI and they had one sheriff and one statey at any one time patrolling...

Everyonce and a while they would bust some city wize azz who would come to Maine and buy a farm and set up a hydroponic operation in a barn, then their electric bills would go through the roof.. and then it was just easy, as they were just dumb... the cops loved that kind of publicity

All the while there were helicopters hovering over the woods looking for Marijuana Patches...

i agree 100% and it was part of my Capstone project for my degree. Tax it like everything else and it would wipe out all that other stuff you mentioned.
