for such a serious punishment why couldn't the commish have a press conference stating this or release an offical statement?

I think it's weak to disseminate the info through the media.

The ruling was weak. The fact that he didn't have the balls to admit this kind of stuff goes on all the time and is using Belichick to make an example makes me sick.

Is he going to penalize every other team that employs this kind of gamesmanship? It's like pulling somebody over for speeding when everybody on the road is going 85 MPH. A rule ceases to be a just rule when it is not forced adequately or fairly.

Goodell has pudding for brains. He isn't a lwayer. He got the job because his dad was a senator and he looks distinguished. Never mind that he dribbles his porridge, can't put two words together coherently, and has a head stuffed with straw. Gene Upshaw and the competition committee delivered this sentence. There was originally a 2 game suspension, but Kraft got that axed.
