    Shyt.

I pray that's not true. My instinct tells me they would've franchised him if they weren't close.

Zero...ZERO...chance of Moss playing on the same team as Owens.

Call me a ****-eyed optimist, but I just feel if our FO sensed that the sides weren't close on a contract, they would have used the Franchise Tag and negotiated while holding exclusive rights.

I just refuse to believe our FO would become dumb overnight.

Do the Cowboys get like a free gazillion extra dollars to spend under the cap?

Out of curiosity, where is that from? PFT perhaps?

I don't know, I just don't see the Pats letting Moss test the waters. They know he'll get lots of cash thrown at him, and I can't see them being willing to match that. We'll see in a few days, but I have a feeling they've got a deal in place.

If the Pats lose Moss it would be devastating to this fan. That would be a terrible blow, after a tough couple months.

I wonder if that was the same source that said we were cutting him after camp?

Again, co-sign...it would be a mess if we couldn't get Moss back on the squad. We need him.

I"m mixed on it, of course I would love to lock the 2007 Moss up for 2-4 years but I do worry just a little about his age and personality over time. Don't get me wrong, I'll be happy if we do get him re-signed but it's not like Brady who has no issues of longevity to me.

why in the world would you dismantle the greatest offense in the history of the game, if moss isnt signed it was a very bad move not to franchise him

Moss will be back because Pats didn't put a francise tag on him last week if it doesn't feel that it can reach a deal with Moss.

if we don't hear anything next week, i'm really worried.

If they weren't close, the pats would have franchised him. this has gotta be either a healthy dose of misinformation or a lot of assumptions on the rumor mill's part.

where does this RUMOR come from?

    who is the author?

how does he know they are "NOT CLOSE"?
a trite expression if I ever heard one.

THIS IS BULL ... Hog wash!

If Moss signs a contract when FA begins I'd like to send this person
a copy of the release with some choice words.

I don't quite buy it, either:
    * If the Pats weren't close, but felt they could get close, they could have used the franchise tag.
    * Moss himself has said he's not looking to break the bank here.
    * If the Pats knew they weren't close, why would they risk letting Stallworth AND Washington go?

If they are to let Moss walk, it would be the worst franchise choice in history. You would really have to question BB and Pioli at this point. It would be a kick to the gut if this were to happen especially coming on the heels of Sub-par bowl 42....I still can't imagine the pats letting Moss go but if it were to happen it would really put a damper on my hopes for 08.....:(
