Forgive me if this has already been discussed, but with the holidays and all, I haven't had much time to read this board.
The last time the Pats played in Jacksonville prior to Sunday's game was Superbowl XXXIX. The final score was 24-21, and the game ended with Rodney on the receiving end of a turnover in the waning seconds of the game....was last Sunday a coincidence, crazy luck, an omen, or a statement from BB and crew?

The team did the same thing in 2003. They denied it, but to name the score like they did that year was something. Again this year, they come out and somehow obtain the same score as the previous visit, with the same kind of play ending the game. (I know, an int isn't the same as a fumble recovery). This is just a little too identical to be coincidence. Especially considering the team's love for obscure records, stats, and irony. You can call it what you will, but I feel much better going into the playoffs now than I did before that game.

    You figured it out.
BB told Tommy Boy to miss a wide open Troy Brown on 3rd down just so the D could get the ball to Rodney.

I suspect that the Big Bang didn't play a hand in the Jacksonville game....

Hey, don't stop there. In both games, NE was up by 10 late and allowed a fairly long drive culminating with a moderately flukey TD pass. Immediately afterward, both teams decided to kick off even though the game was almost over and were rewarded for it by getting a 3 and out.

Also, in both games, the opposition scored the first TD, but never led again once NE scored theirs.

All that said, I still think it is a coincidence. :p

Coincidence. It sure as hell wasn't a statement from BB, he'd have liked to have won by a lot more.

Now thats the spirit! The parallels to the super bowl were really freakish. Though I honestly dont really believe that the outcome was planned, I was illustrating the spooky coincidences between the games. Absolutley unreal.

And I really do feel better going into the playoffs now, but because the offense went into the short dink and dunk passing attack, ala 2001 and 2003. That is the best cure for a passing game that has some difficulty deep. Keeps the pressure short and wide, which opens up the deep patterns and also opens up the inside running game. I was hoping to see that offense for weeks.

Belichick stated what you said in a post game interview. Even I caught it, I'm sure on one of the infinite Sunday recap shows, and I'm on the left coast. :p

Ya know, I was gonna let this thread die as the usual "aint that freaky" thing it seems to be. Then I read Pony's psy ops thread, and now I'm not so sure. Especially after the post game comment by Mangurian. Maybe it was on purpose. And maybe it was a statement?

And what else do you call the spearing non-call against Brady?

That was a great post by Pony.
Read the Psy Ops thread people if you haven't already.

If I recall correctly Philly actually tried an onside kick but NE recovered. Then we ran the ball three straight times to run down the clock, punted and pitted Philly deep. Then Rodney made the int.
