Thank you, hwc!! Thank you! Such a perfect description of two different defensive philosophies.

On a minor point: IMHO, Colvin will be turned loose to be a more disruptive pass rusher once we get the edge set and the opponent's receivers are getting tackled the instant they catch the ball.

BB came right out and said it after the Denver game: there is a way to prevent big plays! That's JOB ONE! Gap and zone control and crisp tackling. Once BB sees that happening consistently, our D will get more aggressive -- but will never look like the Ravens or Bears.
