This is surprising. CNN is probably the most lefty of the cable media outlets, yet, they are going to show live 9/11 coverage as it happened 5 years ago. Seems strange as this would, to me anyway, serve to help the GOP.

CNN.com to Replay 9/11 Attacks Coverage

    NEW YORK

CNN will mark the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks by replaying on the Internet the cable network's coverage of that day's events.
Viewers can watch how events unfolded starting at 8:30 a.m., minutes before the first reports of an airplane hitting the World Trade Center. The feed will run in real time, as the network showed it five years ago, until midnight.

For the day, CNN will make its online video service, CNN Pipeline, available for free. Normally, viewers pay $2.95 a month or $24.95 a year for four separate video feeds.

Online viewers will be able to watch live reports of memorial services through one of the feeds. So that viewers won't accidentally stumble upon graphic footage from 2001, the replay feed will be covered with a notice instructing users to click only if they want to watch.

"Our users may choose to view the stream of coverage from Sept. 11, or live coverage of memorial services at Ground Zero, or they may click through the numerous interactive elements on the site," said David Payne, senior vice president and general manager of CNN.com. "They have the power to determine the best way for them to remember the anniversary."

CNN is a unit of Time Warner Inc.

Sounds fishy to me, CNN is the last place that I would expect to see 9/11 photo's.
It is well known that the Left Wing Liberal Big Shots don't like this kind of thing (it makes Americans MAD) and if the people get mad they might support the Hated Bush.

    I SMELL A RAT :rocker:

I wonder if they will edit out (censor) the shots of people plunging to their deaths from the Towers?

Thats the big thing the Uncle Teddy Gang doesn't want you watching.

Auntie Pelosi has a picture of the "Muslim Murderer" with ladies underwear hanging off his head on her Piano, she says "she never wants to forget"

You are allways claiming this and that about liberal media or liberal space programs, if there is a liberal connection in your mind it's junk

You have been railing for how long now? that the liberal media refuses to show 911 images and instead focuses only on the poor smelly muslim rats.

And now that YOU have witnessed this ONLY once in the history of liberal media showing images of 911 and not those smelly muslims you smell something fishy? Probably it's the 10lb cod rotting in your azz:D

I watch history channel, military channel, pbs, cnn, fox, msnbc and c-span, read the wall st journal the ny times and the boston globe for my news and more sources on the net..Since 911 I have watched parts of these images on all these sources of news including ''THE EVIL LIBERAL MEDIA'' right up till this day.....You need to focus on more reality and less bullsh--....
Even the hated CBS has many a show centered on 911 and those that lived it and were affected by it, fireman, families, police and rudy and more..

Go back to hating everything that is liberal related and spew your venom, your a great NEO-CON who is well versed in the mantra...

And throw that fish away for christsakes harryboy:eek:

To me, this type of coverage seems more like a voyeuristic thrill than something solemn. Wouldn't it be better to have coverage about how those families who lost a loved one have done since the tragedy or perhaps brief biographies of some of those who died. You righties seem to get an unnatural thrill over death, and believe showing the tragedy will remind people of why you thought it was a good idea to kill 2500 more Americans in an unrelated war. I fail to see why you are happy CNN will show the events again. Does it have something to do with your political objectives? If so, then why not show the funerals of soldiers and the loss of lives in Iraq?

That's exactly what it is. I missed the morning to mid afternoon coverage because at the time I was still in the eighth grade ( ) and I had football practice afterwards. Well here like a year ago, there were a few weeks that I became fascinated with 9/11 and particularly the live TV/radio coverage of the attacks. I downloaded as many of the 9/11 broadcasts as I could find. All in all, I listened to about two hours of Howard Stern, a little bit of Imus, and watched Peter Jennings and the ABC coverage. By far the most chilling was listening to Flight 11 (the first plane) flight attendent Betty Ong calling American Airlines control, talking about people be stabbed and how worried she was. The call abruptly ended.

Saying peple are thrilled by death? What proof do you have for that. That is a despiciable. I lost friends and co workers there. How dare you say that.

What a bizarre interpetation. Naturally, I was referring to the fact that some people are happy by the prospect of this tragedy being replayed. After all, that's what the thread was talking about, not about the tragedy itself. It's frankly idiotic to think that any of us are happy about the deaths.

I still don't see why you're so happy that this is being shown again. There are much more profound ways to remember the tragedy. To watch it is simply voyeurism. For me, the images are burned into my memory. I certainly don't need to see them again. If that's not the case with you righties, perhaps you're lucky.

Well said Patters...makes no sense to me.

Above all the thought of the rescue personel running into those buildings to die is most haunting to me. I know that sounds unequal...like some lives are worth more than others....but that's not the case.

The people who ran into those buildings without hesitation were not initially a part of that tragedy...very sad they ran to their deaths to save the lives of others...I see no need to see that again....the day it happened is more powerfull than any replay could possibly be.

I hurt my back that morning putting my shoes on. Pinched a nerve in the lowest 2 disks. I could barley move for 3-4 days. I watched that scenario unfold and my pain abated....I felt guilty even saying my back hurt.

No movie or show could reproduce the emotions of that day & week...so I'd rather not watch because I don't want to remember it any other way than the horrific way I viewed it the 1st time....and I certainly don't want to see finger pointing because of it.

If you forget the past you are doomed to repeat it.

Why are their films about the holocost, why the saying never forget.

...that sums up very well why I don't want to watch the two 9/11 movies that are out. It's all too close to the real event and to think that someone will make good money from them is sick. With that and what happened here in London, it was as if the media loved what was going on because it selled more advertising space, subscriptions and so on. Miss Gcat and I turn over when they do "one year on" and "five years on" reports. It's too much.

What is bizzare here is your quote: "You righties seem to get an unnatural thrill over death,"

That clearly says that righty's are excited by death. Words mean something.

Maybe it's a good thing to show the coverage of WTC.
Maybe then someone will step up and say, "Why the hell don't we get the guy that did this? He needs to die!"
Maybe then the country can remember what a bunch of treasonous as-holes run the White House.
I can't wait to see the part where the simian is standing on the rubble with the firefighter promising to get who's responsible.

Remember "Roots" the movie about Slavery:
Liberals wanted America to keep their children home from school to watch this film about "Whitey" treating black people like dogs, they showed this film in classrooms across the country, they talked about it in classrooms, the children were told to write about it.

For years after WII there was a steady flow of "Holocaust Movie's" in the theatre's and at home on TV, "Never Forget" they said.
Schindlers List also like the movie Roots was shown in classrooms, many people kept their children home, they didn't see any point in forcing them to watch human bodies being bulldozed into holes.

If CNN is sincere, and if CNN doesn't cut & censor what is shown in this program then they are to be commended, it is called "Fair And Balanced"
    NEVER FORGET "Slavery-Holocaust-Pearl Harbor-9/11"

They have a new show set up like americas most wanted.

The clinton years and his failure to capure or kill bin laden and al qeada.

They show The august 6 2001 Bush daily press briefing.
Warning the president of a bin laden al qaeda attack in america.

The cole bombing suspect still in afghanistan with his al qeada thugs

    September 11 2001.

Finally the attempt to kill or capture bin laden and al qeada, and how bin laden escaped.

Then the BUSH ADMINISTRATION's build up for war against saddam and iraq BASED on the saddam reconstituting his nuclear arsenal, his unmanned vehicles, his tons of chem-bio WMD's and his connection to 911..

Years later and $320 billion dollars and counting spent in iraq.
And 2500 and counting fallen american soldiers.
And 10's of thousands innocent iraqi live.

The president in august 20 2006 told america that SADDAM HAS NO WMD's and no CONNECTION TO 911..

Bin laden is still alive and hanging out with al ageada in pakistan planning new terrorist attacks around the world...

    Never forget to ask WHY?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

The true hard core Liberal/Socialist does not want "TRUE" 9/11 photo's shown, those photos make Americans Mad.

The CNN thing is very surprising, I smell a "Liberal Rat"

Spin Twist - Censorship - Bash Bush - Blame Bush - Anti War - Pity The Terrorist - A Memorial To Mohammad Atta.
    That is what I suspect.

It's historically unique to have such a momentous event completely covered from beginning to end. I want to see it. I want everyone to see it again so that we can draw a real line from there to where we are today. This will hopefully generate a national discussion on what happened that day and where we SHOULD HAVE GONE since then. It could re-set our thinking and remind us that Iraq had nothing to do with the attack on WTC. There will be no way the traitors can cover their tracks with time and public ADD. I'm surprised the administration is allowing this to go on.
