    It's an Internet poll.

In otherwords, not statistically significant and, well, essentially useless.

    #12 Jersey

And considering it's linked to on every right wing news site and blog it's no wonder, either.

He's the guy we can blame for inflation 2-3 years from now!

Although it's not an "official" poll, CNBC followers are among the smartest people who follow economic news....they know their sh1t!

I've had no confidence in Bernanke since the day he was appointed. Many of the Fed's regional presidents don't support his policies either. So they're prolly wicked smaht too!

Just so people know, Bernanke isn't in a genuine political position. Fed chairman operate independently from the president. Bernanke was appointed to the fed BoG by GW in 2006 to a 14 year term, and was nominated to return as chairman by Obama in 2010 (70-30 senate vote). So supporting or criticizing him shouldn't fall on party lines IMO.

As for the poll, it is an internet poll, and I doubt most of the people in this country even understand who or what this guy really does.

So Jack, what is your Ben Bernanke confidence level?

Also, are you claiming CNBC is misleading the public on Ben Bernanke because they have some pre-determined agenda?

But you've followed his policies, so what do you think of him RW?

Also, there is a REASON CNBC conducted this (unofficial) poll. Think about that for a minute...you just don't conduct polls on something there is little public knowledge or concern about. So, why is this poll on their website?

Yes with respect to the bolded part. Him, the administration(s), and anyone else who's rememdy has been to print money without a real plan moving forward. Some of us talked about how printing money like this would result in uneven to anemic growth and inflated prices.

It's not causing much inflation right now because people still are too scared to spend. But if the economy turns around a little, look out.

I have no reason to believe he's inept.

No. I'm just saying that the poll is useless.

Apparently CNBC doesn't agree with you...

I do have several reasons to believe he's inept. The Fed isn't the keeper of our economy...(many don't even realize that).

You don't artificially inflate an economy that is trying to get out of a recession that was caused by artificially inflating it.

Another reason is that his name is Ben....

What reason do you have that leads you to believe he's not inept?

Apparently they kinda do...since right beneath the survey are the words,

    Not a Scientific Survey.

Besides which, I've already voted 4 times, once from each computer device in my home....and if I took the trouble to clear my cookies I could vote 4 more times - and 4 more times after that.

That makes it "inept" in my book...unless you think being able to vote multiple times is kosher.

It doesn't much matter what CNBC thinks. It's pretty much common knowledge that Internet polls are not scientifically valid. That's just the way it is.

Simply put: I don't think anyone else would be doing differently were they in his shoes.

You should really say "not causing much inflation according to the current fed formula". Remember, you can't eat an Ipad. ;)
