    Chudzinski, no.
    Norv, yes.
As for the 3-4 scheme, there's this:

You have to give their 30 year old rookie some time to develop.

That defense has been drafting around playing a 4-3 for years. It's too late to change it now... idiots.

I actually thought that CLE had played a bit better this past season, at least up until the WAS game late in the year. They had played somewhat competitive for the most part, at least for CLE's standards.

Having at least the potential for a tough and scrappy defense with Haden and Ward, along with the likes of D.Jackson and Sheard looked to me like they may have been heading towards the right direction.

The offense was the problem obviously, but again--I thought that there may have been some potential there with the high picks at RB, QB, and WR.

I'm not stating that they were going to be a force to be reckoned with or anything, but I did think that the pieces were in place to start to turn the team in the right direction, and the thought of another high draft pick was going to help their cause.

I would've kept Pat Shurman at the helm another season myself, and I thought that he at least kept them competitive for their city's standards. The lack of consistancy in the front office and coaching staff isn't really going to help things in my opinion, nor would the switch to a 3-4 defense.

That is silly. Using that argument no team could ever change scheme. Ever.

I'd have a hard time believing that it will be an all out change from 4-3 to 3-4, at least at first. I think the change if it happens will be more gradual, and they may even utilize a combination of 30 and 40 fronts for the upcoming season or two, much like other teams around the league, and comparable to what Buffalo wants to do in the upcoming season.

You hire an offensive coordinator as a head coach and an offensive minded coach as offensive coordinator, what can go wrong??

But I do like the name, Chudzinski , sounds like he should coach Chicago though..

This guy was RAC's OC in the Derek Anderson pro bowl period. They say he likes a big armed vertical threat. Hmm... Wonder if Lombardi is still alive for some sort of FO gig.

    Ahh, Cleveland...

    Fun times in Cleveland today...CLEVELAND!!

Seriously, though, these moves have gimmick written all over it. That seems to be the MO in Cleveland over the last several years. Sure, the moves make great front page fodder, but it just doesn't feel like a series of smart football moves. :confused2:

As long as Weeden is committed to improving (watching film, working with teammates in the offseason, etc.), then Norv should be able to help him become at least a competent quarterback.

On a side note, is there a more unattractive name in the world than Chudzinkski?

eh..... I don't know if they are in a position to where they have to reach for a QB. Weeden would be fine, McCoy would do fine.

Defensively, that's a talented team, D'Qwell Jackson would be a waste in the way PatrickWillis is. Of course he's not Patrick Willis, but he's going to be an important part of that 3-4 Defense.

If their first move is to "find a QB" then no. If they do the right thing, and focus on winning & building a winning tradition, they'll be ok.

I think bringing Turner to be the OC is a very good move. Won't rush to judgment on "Chud." But, especially in that division, Cleveland is many, many players away from competing for the playoffs.

And Ahtyba Rubin will make for a very acceptable 3-4 NT. He's good.

Chudzinski is fortunate to get this hire. The Panthers offense underachieved a lot this past season, and failed in a lot of key moments. I'd much rather they had gone after Arians if I were a Browns fan.
