I realize it’s extremely early, and their roster may not include him when they arrive here in Foxboro on October 7. But… If Willie is still part of that team he deserves a huge ovation from the Patriot crowd. Not just a spattering of cheers, but a full length standing ovation.

Willie will always be a true Patriot through and through and the earlier I post this, the earlier word will spread to give him his props. :rocker:

If you ask me, Willie should STILL be a Patriot. Problem is, BB never asked.

None of us were there and know what happened. If Belichick "never asked" I'm sure he had good reason - although I think that isn't the case as the Patriots were said to be in touch with his agent through the process.

It was a business move. BB got every last drop of production out of Willie. Not to say he wouldn't have more left in the tank if he got back in our system (with our d-line). If he get's released...I'm sure the Pats will contact him.

Willie will get the ovation he deserves. No Patriot fan will ever forget his contributions and his class. He will always be a Patriot.

What are you all talking about. Willie Retired from the Patriots after a long illustrious career. He is a up-and-coming TV Star now, unfortunately his first roll is as a LB on a really bad team in ESPNs as the NFL Turns.

    Re: Cleveland Brown game.

Willie didn't wait. He signed with the Browns as soon as Free Agency began. Bryan Cox did the same thing with the Saints.

That said, Willie was washed up went he left. He hasn't done crap for the Browns. Not to say he wasn't a valued part of the patriots for many of the years he was here. But his time ended.

If he starts, he'll get a huge cheer in spite of his silliness about his number (I said Seau could have it but the Pats should have over-ruled me and not given it out.)

Romeo will get a standing O, I hope.

Willie did wait. His phone never rang. He had no choice. As for #55...I don't blame Willie for being hurt by another person taking his number after all those years of service.

If we fans do not give Willie and RAC a huge ovation, we are a huge bunch of ingrates.

Now if they had gone to the Colts ...

We have Antowain Smith a big ovation, so we will certainly give one to Crennel and Willie. Adam would have gotten one too if he hadn't signed with the Colts.

Absolutely he will-both him and RC. I think it will be a very emotional moment for him and for us when he steps out onto the field.
It's also going to be beyond weird seeing #55 try to sack #12.:bricks:
