Chris is probably the best game predictor on Inside The NFL.......here is to hope his prediction is dead wrong here.

FP - Bold Prediction Time: When Will First NFL Game Be Played This Year?

November 1st as a week 1 game will all but realistically screw the season....if it starts in November the whole season deserves an asterisk after it and no matter who wins the SB,it's not going to feel OR be the same.

That's sort of like saying $5 is not $1,000,000 dollars but it's better than $0

Some football may be better than no football, but I do agree that it won't feel like an official NFL season.

OTOH, I don't get home from Kabul until November, so the season starting then wouldn't bother me all that much.

Hopefully he is wrong because this prediction sucks.. OTOH both sides are waiting for litigation instead of negotiating.

$5 dollars is better than $0 dollars. ;)

Not ideal but I won't know what to do with Monday mornings between 1 and 4AM without football to watch.. sleep.. whatever!

As for Sean Pa Patriot.. cry me a river.

Oh well I predict there will be no football in 2011 I guess in your mind this is better. Nowhere did anyone say that very little football was good simply better than none.

Both sides are waiting for the 8th Circuit of Appeals ruling. Whichever way the court rules will affect the negotiations, but I think serious negotiations happen after that.

I think Collinsworth should stick to predicting games. Just because he can pick the winner of the Pats/Jets game doesn't mean he can predict labor negotiations.

If they miss 2 games they can still play a 14 game season, which i would consider a substantial enough season for a real champion to be crowned, anything less than that and i will write it off. If it ends up a 12 game season i won't consider the winner a real champion and wouldn't count even a Patriots SB win as their 4th Lombardi, i wouldn't even bother with the asterik.

If we have a 12-game season, maybe we could poll a bunch of writers or come up with a computer algorithm that would just pick the two teams that would play in the Super Bowl....no,wait.

Well he does know a bit about NFL issues between both Players and Owners since he was a player in both the 82 and 87 strikes...maybe this is a different scenario than those 2 years but a lockout and strike are pretty much at the end result.....no football on Sundays

How can they have a "season" starting in November? If they don't get in at least 14 regular-season games I think they should just tank it.

He knows about player strikes which is irrelevant to this situation. The battles that were fought in the 80s were much different than the one being fought now. The stakes are far different then too. NFL franchises were worth $100 million or less back then. Top players salaries were only a $3-4 million a year with little or no signing bonuses (signing bonuses were a product of free agency and the cap).

If he is basing his theory on his past experiences with labor disputes, he really isn't bringing much to the table. Things couldn't be more different now than it was in the 80s.

If they can't play 14 games, they should just skip the season. Otherwise you get a 6 game season and the pats would end up 3-3 or 4-2 and with their luck not make the playoffs.

    Disable Jersey

What happened to the daily "Today is the day the 8th Circuit will issue its ruling!" posts? I miss them.
