Maybe if we have another one on the other side of the planet it will compensate and everything will be all right.:bricks:

Yeah in about 2,500 years, our day will be a second shorter. That's really going to mess up the goose migrations

Maybe the Mayabs were right after all? On the bright side, maybe we can stop talking about global warming now since we're all going to die in 2 years anyways...

Actually, the Earth's day is getting longer. We are gradually headed towards a roughly 1,000 hour long day, where only one side of the Earth faces the moon (much like right now how only one side of the moon faces the Earth). Although, this theory assumes the sun stays in its current state, which will not be the case over the timeframes necessary before our earth day actually reaches that long.

Not that any of us will actually be here to see it. :D

In theory the earth will rebalance itself.

The Earth's Crust that was pushed under by the other plate, which is focused the mass and caused this axis shift, should soon melt into magma, and be redistributed around the core, thus balancing out the earth, which would re-balance the axis to it's natural tilt at the current mass and distribution.

When I'm a grandpa, I can now say "I remember back in my day, we had to stay awake longer than you kids do these days, We had a tough life, life was much longer, you kids these days just have it so easy with your waking up and going to sleep in 23 hours, back in my day! We had 24 hours!
