I hate to keep being so redundant on this issue but Woods is another player who doesn't have very good coverage skills for this scheme (or for any scheme for that matter).
He ranked 34th in yards per attempt and 29th in tight/good coverage percentage. He also had the 2nd highest percentage of receivers open by 2 steps or more. He did poorly against deep passes (20th in deep completion percentage) and worse against medium passes (24th in medium completion percentage). Just as I said with Wesley, I'd like to give Woods something of a pass due to the injuries, but those numbers are just terrible.
The good news for Woods is that the defense played even worse when he was out. I can't imagine KC trying to move Wesley to free safety. The Chiefs didn't draft a safety, and Shaunard Harris is even worse in coverage, so Woods' job is probably safe. That's good news for him but bad news for the Chiefs unless Woods improves over his performance from the past two years.
