Chiefs fans cheered Matt Cassel's injury

Jesters fans did the same when Pennington went down and had to be replaced by Kellen Clemons.

Hopefully this means that Scott will be back just like our boy wonder OC.

Maybe we can also sign Romeo as our DC, or as some sort of specialist?

I would like to see Brady win some more SuperBowls!

seasons.
They've hated Pioli and Cassel since the day they landed in KC because they somehow delusionally believed they were poised for greatness prior to Herm and his collection of misfits being kicked to the curb. They've never supported them and had more affection for the golf pro.
All false.

KC fans were ecstatic and in love with Pioli after years of Carl Peterson failing on his 4 year plan to the Super Bowl. They have also given Cassel every benefit of the doubt until now. Cassel has 14 turnovers in 5 games this season and the fumbles are definitely on him.

Herms collection of misfits include Jamal Charles, Tamba Hali, Brandon Flowers, Dwayne Bowe, Brandon Carr (Starts in Dallas) Bernard Pollard (Starts in Balt) The Herm misfits that remain are the best players on the team.

Romeo Crennel is not a HC and BB said so when he was asked if he thought RAC would be successful as HC a few years back. BB said "No" and that caused friction between RAC and BB. KC hasnt won a playoff game in 19 years and this year will make 20 with no end in sight. Pioli deserves criticism for the last 4 years because of HCs that he hired and a QB that he signed to a 60 million dollar contract.

Sorry, but that is a completely load of crap. Feel free to go look at Chiefsplanet and look at the archives all the way back to when they traded for Cassel and passed on drafting Sanchez.

Chiefs Fans Cheer Matt Cassel Getting Hurt - YouTube

On the one hand, my initial reaction to this is that the fans were cheering the first down. On the other hand, they were cheering for a long time even after Cassel went down. Would have to think if it were a guy like Jamaal Charles on the ground, the crowd would have gone silent fairly quickly.

Winston was there up close and he believed the crowd was cheering the injury, so that's the impression I'll take from all this. Very unfortunate.

Actually that's all false. KC was in love with their backup of the moment and never warmed to Cassel. It didn't help that even after his signing the golf pro talked about QB competition and Pioli didn't have to stones to back his own play. Cassel took the brunt of the blame in KC where the media quickly soured on him as well due to a first year performance that was largely the fault of the HC and his OL (not to mention a diva WR with the dropsies). The fans began to dislike Pioli the day he traded their all world TE to Atlanta, a stupid move he should have made it a point to avoid. His choice of HC also alienated his RG. New regimes always clean house, but Pioli retained some he should have long parted with like the temperemental Bowe (because the golf pro fancied himself a WR's guru) while alienating some veteran talent that could have helped a new QB transition (let alone thry 2 offenses in just the first season - as Gailey was fired coming out of camp).

Then of course Charlie and RAC entered the picture and attitudes softened as the team went to the playoffs and Cassel went to a pro bowl. But it didn't last long as Charlie wouldn't remain to butt heads with the golf pro and Pioli couldn't bring himself to pull the trigger he eventually would anyway. Last season with the golf pro back at the helm of the offense for all intents and purposes and unable to even get calls in on time and dealing with a boatload of injuries, Cassel was again the scapegoat. There have been calls for his benching all off season, as well as calls for Clark Hunt to can Pioli and what many KC fans and mediots refer to as his NE retreads.

Pioli was pretty good at locating talent for the schemes we used to play here. Difference is his mentor was adept at evolving concepts and Scott not only isn't he isn't a great judge of on or off field talent in his own right. He's also raised painting himself into a corner on multiple levels into an art form in KC.

That's terrible. Matt Cassel seems like such a nice guy. Didn't Jets fans do the same thing when Chad PEnnington went down?

I agree that that sort of thing should never happen, but their fans are understandably royally pissed. High expectations for this year, and the QB seems to always bear the brunt of the blame.

I do think Pioli made a big mistake in thinking Cassel was the answer and giving him that huge contract. Cassel did well in 2008 with all pieces from an 18-1 offense around him. However it's a huge leap to think a career back-up will turn into a top-tier NFL QB on any other team just based on that one season.

Youre a Fool talking out of your arse as usual.

Ive lived in KC for the last 16 years. Dont try to lecture me on whats going on around here everyday. Ive been to preseason KC games this year and know what the mood is amongst the fanbase. My neighbor and friend is involved the with Chiefs Superfans and is personal friends with Mitch Holtus who announces the games.

Go BS somebody else.

Cassel is very nice guy just like Herm Edwards was. Pioli is backing Cassel because 1. Money and 2. Not wanting to admit he screwed up.

Yes, Jets fans did cheer Penny getting hurt. I was there.

As I said, feel free to go back and peruse the Chiefsplanet threads. Here's a calm example of the split, where the poster notes that there's a "vocal minority", from back in 2009, and notes that it's already a daily argument:

No one is responding because this argument occurs pretty much daily. The posters that would rather have Sanchez, of which I am one, are the vocal minority.

As for being a fool and talking out of one's ass, you've got that market nailed down, so I wouldn't dream of treading on your turf.

Let's see, so now Chad Pennington and Matt Cassel have both been cheered for an injury taking them out of the game. Ouch, definitely classless.

I heard them talking about this on the radio and comparing it to booing Josh Beckett. Baseball and football injuries can not even be compared in my mind.

Both of Cassel's INTs yesterday were in and out of WRs hands. Both Bowe, I believe.

Bowe is the joke, and I am still thrilled patsfans isn't running the pats because he'd be here in that case.

Hopefully Pioli doesn't come back here when fired.

What A-Hole gave this 5 stars??

....is there a Chiefs fan in here?

Classy on Baldinger's part. I suppose he wouldn't have backed up his quarterback then?

Another former player who was likely concussed multiple times who wants to keep his gig on local TV in his dotage. If 70K people show up to support the franchise that doesn't give them license to cheer an injury to a player on that franchise they don't like. And if a player calls them out for the jackasses they made of themselves, so be it. Their feelings are hurt? Good, turnabout is fair play.

Eric Winston rips Chiefs fans for cheering Matt Cassel injury

Really? wow, of the 32 teams only 1 wins the SB every year, i think the fans now a days are getting impatient too soon, Most of the pats fans too expect each and every year that the team plays like the 2007 team did. Fans need to calm down.

Booing someones injury is classless

Hate to say it but i must admit when Drew Bedsore got hurt i cannot say i was overly sad. How did that turn out for us:cool:...i hope he recovered but i had enough of him.:snob: The trurth is Cassel sucks he's terrible they alot of Talent on the Chiefs in Bowe - Charles and others it seems the QB is holding them back. I have always liked the Chiefs as an organization.
