Hey guys, bears fan here. I've taken the time to read through all the posts and it seems things got a little heated and personal lol.
I'm just here to face the facts.
Yes i agree Tom Brady is a master @ Cover 2 defenses and especially with the weather - we should expect to see a lot of the short game passes from both sides. Your offense
is VERY hot right now (I mean you guys single handedly brought the 3rd ranked defense in the NFL to the 8th) and have always been nothing less than good w/ that number 12 guy under center. Now I am not comparing Cutler to Tom Brady, but give the guy some credit. My father used to always say, It's not how you start - It's how you finish. The past 5 games hes thrown 90/137 for 1062 yards w/ a completion rating of 66.22%, 10 TDs, Only 3 Ints, and a QB rating of 102.6. Now that may not be crazy numbers compared to Brady with his 110/160 for 1427 yards w/ a completion rating of 69.76%, 16 TDs (1 rush), 0 Ints, and a QB rating of 127.62. Not to mention he has 200 consecutive passes without an interception, but its enough to keep the bears coming with the W's.
Now I think your defense is very underrated and had i think.. 10 games now to
really gel together.. but dont think our defense is anything less than great. If theres one thing people can give the bears this season is our defense. Yeah Love Smith may not be a defensive genius (which i argue with many Jets fans - I currently reside in Jersey lol) like Bill Belichick, but c'mon we can atleast say our defense is better or atleast one of the best you will probably face all year. I'm just hoping that Martz doesnt come out thinking because you guys are ranked 31st in the pass and get all pass happy on us.
Overall what I am trying to say is that - It will be a
GREAT game to watch if not the most exciting one for me all season. Say what you want about Green Bay getting 18 penalities that game and how Calvin Johnson didn't get the TD, but its all apart of the game of how things are called and ref'd. No body's perfect neither are ref's. Lets go back in history - Pats vs the Raiders, the notorious Tuck Rule that sent the pats to glory? The Houston Oiler's game winning TD pass not called a TD pass that sent the Steelers into winning it all in the 80's? Jerry Rice is ruled down against the Packers in 1999 when clearly he fumbled the ball? Bert Emanuel's first down catch in 2000 which was ruled it hit the ground first? History will have its toll in bad calls but it still does not take away for the level of intensity the players play at.
Hope to see a great game - Go Bears!
