CHFF: Brady 1, Warner 2, Manning 3

Damn. CHFF must really hate Peyton Manning. No way is Warner a better quarterback than Manning.

Peyton is not that bad, he's just had this paranoia in the playoffs lately.

He hold's 2 of the best performances in the playoffs in a single game all time:

He's at #1 and #3 ahead of Joe Montana and a whole bunch of other QB's. Brady's is at #9.

might one of those be against the pats in 06 in the afccg? if so, it really shouldnt count...threre was no defesne on the field

I don't think this article is idiotic or wrong, if anything, it just goes a little too far.

The fact is, Manning has been an absolute choker in the playoffs and Warner hasn't. Also, how could you possible say that Warner has had the better offense (OL, WR, RB) around him than Peyton? The Colts are built for Peyton. Peyton has had absolutely horrid playoff games and has managed to lose their first playoff game 6 of 9 times. No QB has ever had such success in the regular season (117-59) and failure in the playoffs (3-8).

There is no denying the fact that Manning is the better QB during the regular season... but there is also no denying the fact that Warner has been the better QB during the playoffs (significantly).

CHFF is saying that it's more important to play your best in the playoffs rather than the regular season. They are saying they would take Warner because he is good enough during the regular season to take his team to the playoffs, but then, unlike Manning, elevates his game to another level in the playoffs.

As Pats fans, we have preached that winning (especially in the playoffs) is far more important than just stats. In that case, if Warner were to go on to win the Superbowl, it would be hard to argue that Manning is the better QB. Sure, he might have the better regular season stats, but Warner is the one who has consistently succeeded in the playoffs.

Agreed, more or less. CHFF took a slightly compelling point and ran it right off the cliff. Manning's a better overall QB than Warner, and it isn't even close.

think of it in baseball terms.

Peyton Manning is Roger Clemens.

Kurt Warner is Dave Stewart or Jack Morris.

Warner HAS has better success in the Playoffs, but I don't think you can deny the level of competition between the two conferences. I would much rather have the NFC path to the SB than the AFC. Pitt/NE/SD have all been very strong teams in the recent past. Take those 3 and the Colts, and consistently, each year, those teams could have easily beaten the NFC rep in a SB. Faulk was also very good. PM had him 1 year, but he was a very dynamic player that made a huge difference for that offense. Edge was a great back, and he did catch well out of the backfield, but he couldn't bust a play like Marshall could. Special teams for the RAMS was also very good with Az Hakim. Fact is, the Colts consistently have been mediocre at beat in that department as well.
