Makes sense, though I'd be inclined to go at least 10 deep and keep Gardner for youth/speed at MLB when they go 4-3. I'd give the nod to Woods ahead of Mincey, but either one is #11 if BB goes that deep.

I agree that BB will probably go 10 deep, and those 10 will most likely be as follows:

Starters:

Vrabel
Colvin
Bruschi
Seau

Reserves:

Banta-Cain
Brown
Beisel
Mincey
Gardner
Izzo
Davis

(Wait, that's 11...:D)

Guess we'll be keeping Chad Brown...:D

And thus dictates the rest of the defense:

Starters:

Seymour
Wilfork
Warren

Reserves:

Green
Hill
Smith
Wright

Starters:

Samuel
Hobbs
Wilson
Harrison

Reserves:

Hawkins
Jones
Sanders
Gay
C. Scott

(Sorry E.W., H.P., G.S., J.S., S.T., D.K., E.A., P.W., F.R.)

All roads lead to 11 linebackers. If Brown isn't healthy, then I think Woods make the squad.

But your total is 27 defensive players. The problem is that Andrews is missing!

Hill Wow, getting your optimism in early. :D
Smith Not likely, he's P-Squad eligible and not a realistic target for any other club. I'll grant you Hill, but Thomas sticks before Smith.
Wright

Starters:

Samuel
Hobbs
Wilson
Harrison

Reserves:

Hawkins
Jones I'm conflicted between Tebucky and Warfield if it comes to down to nine DBs - and I like G.Scott ahead of him too.
Sanders
Gay
C. Scott

See, that's where I disagree. BB has kept a lot previously, but that's because (a) he's had a lot of depth there and (b) he's gotten a lot if ST production from the bottom half of the LB depth chart. This year, there's not nearly as much depth and the ST production can come from the young TEs and the DBs. So I'm predicting 9 LBs and 11 DBs - Samuel, Hobbs, Rodney, Wilson, Gay, C. Scott, Hawkins, Sanders, Andrews, Tebucky, G. Scott.

The fragile Gus Scott, of course, is already hurt and is probably the most doubtful of the group. However, a core ST group of Izzo, Davis, Beisel, TBC, Tebucky, Andrews, Sanders, Pass/Evans, Thomas, and Mills might be enough. In that case, Scott's roster spot would bascially become the 53rd roster spot open to any position.
