Patriots sign first-round draft choice DE Chandler Jones
I was just about to post this. You beat me to it!! Good, now lets sign all of the other draft picks and get ready for training camp!!
Yeah, somewhat less climactic under the new slotting system.
Under the new CBA, you have to badly misstep to miss signing your drafted players.
It's not even June ! Man I love the New NFL !
Those two holdouts, Hightower and Bequette, are going to be problem children. /Jets fans
Similar to most, 4 years with option for 5th!
Happy to get these done quickly!
Now that we signed him...lets trade him
I might be a few dollars off on this, but he should receive a signing bonus of $4,386,000 with base salaries of $390,000, $761,625, $1,133,250, and $1,504,875. Id imagine that last year will be split $752,438 in guaranteed salary and $752,437 in a roster bonus or something similar to that.
He's worth at least 2 first rounders just because he was on the Pats
Even better is that we will get Jones and Hightower for about 3mill in year 1 cap space and 2mill after accounting for the top 51 rule.
what does \Jets mean, Deus?
are Jet fans saying this?...link please...unless it's a Rage Rage 19 post
Chandler Jones signed? Sweet! Championship! :rocker:
Or how about Double Digit Sacks?
Oooh how about both? I admit it, I'm greedy! But won't that be so much fun to rub into the Jets fans faces how they passed on Jones and drafted Coples? Ooooh double sweetness! :singing:
Let's trade him for Jared Allen
Good news, like this new CBA seems as though a lot are coming into the fold with less effort than previous..
a sarcastic prescient Jets Fans position
Let's play over/under!
Over/under on Jones reaching 5 sacks his rookie year? I'll take the over.
Over/under on Jones reaching 10 sacks his rookie year? I have to be realistic. I'll take the under.
But anything is possible. Who would have thought McCourty would have a pro bowl year his first year in our system?
Report: Chandler Jones base salary $1.5 million
Chandler Jones' deal is $8.173 million with$4.384 million bonus, guaranteed salaries of $390,000, $761,522 and $1.133 million.
Pats got a pretty good deal all things considered. No roster bonus in year 4 means they can carry him through camp if needed and then cut him, unless the salary become fully guaranteed after a certain date. They also saved a few dollars over the slotted signing bonus. I have the cap charges up on the patriots page and his page is updated for all 4 years.
