Chances of McDaniels return?

McDaniels has no one to blame but himself for this loss.

He needs to spend less time trying to be Belichick Jr. and more time being McDaniels. Benching half your receiving core for a final must win game is down right ridiculous.

Not really. The receivers weren't the problem, it was the defense. Jamaal Charles ran for 259 yards alone.

After one year? Almost zero chance the Broncos fire him this early. After a couple more seasons maybe

I agree, but karma's a b!tch and it's just slapped Josh squarely in the face.

The Broncos bust out of the gate at 4-0, McD has swindled Chicago and saddled them with Cutler, Orton is looking like Joe Montana, and the Denver fans can't believe their good luck. Then Bill Belichick brings a wounded and somewhat struggling New England team to town and gets his a** handed to him by his former star pupil. Only thing is, the pupil then gets caught up in his own hubris and shows up his old boss on the field after the game, in front of millions of viewers. Even worse, he lacks the grace to show proper deference to Belichick in is postgame presser.

I think Josh has done a good job and probably will do well next year. If this were The Godfather though he already would have already been taught the lesson he learned today long ago.

McDaniels got 8 wins in a year where 5 wins would have been more likely. I don't think he's all that worried about getting fired.
Agreed. How many pundits actually picked Denver to win more than a handful of games in the off-season. The answer is none.

McDaniels has done very well with an average squad given what's transpired this season. For reference, Belichick was 5-11 in his first season here.

Re: OT: Chances of McDaniels return?

O'Brien will be back next year ... and the year after that ... and so on.

As long as he's the OC for a Tom Brady offense he will be a HC candidate and that's when we get a new one.
