    We are long overdue for a massive pandemic flu outbreak. Just because the CDC has improperly estimated actual reach of an epidemic in the past doesn't mean the notion of a pandemic itself is stupid. I'd rather see the CDC err on the side of overreacting than ever see a repeat of 1918.

    maybe it'd be more productive to explain WHY you think it's stupid rather than contributing nothing of note to the discussion

    Or didn't garner enough outrage nor public paranoia or simply not enough ratings to warrant a follow up...it's a freaking TV show, they aren't obligated to revisit a story everytime.

    That would be too easy and might enlighten the facts...

    We are long overdue for a pandemic period. We got lucky with bird flu, that was close to the 1918 "Spanish Flu" that killed millions worldwide. We got lucky here in that it was relatively confined to schools and one region of the world.
